I have been inspired by the work that LDS does for the over 7 years I have been involved there. They have grown from a small tutoring agency to a professional, research-based organization whose reputation has grown in Greater Vancouver. We have seen the kids and parents arrive desperate for support. We have seen them, after a few sessions, leave the agency with their lives turned around for the better. It is the most rewarding experience I have had in my life. I am proud to have helped to contribute to building this model of excellence.

It is inspiring to see an organization like LDS make an impact in the community of Vancouver by helping kids in need of learning support. Personally, LDS has inspired me to start a UBC tutor volunteer program for high school students in need. I hope LDS continues to grow and reach as many people as possible such that they can receive any support they need.

We are so fortunate that we found LDS when we moved to Vancouver! They helped with transitioning to a new school system and providing my son the remedial support he needed to be successful. The staff has been extremely supportive and knowledgeable. I do not know where we would have been without LDS.

For the last three years I have been involved with the students and parents coming to LDS to take advantage of their specialized, scientific and data-driven help through individually tailored tutoring strategies for the students in need. Staff keep improving programs and the results are heartwarming and life-giving to these special young students. I wish I had found them 5 years ago!

I have never encountered such mean girl, petty behaviour in my life. The level of workplace bullying and harassment that goes on behind the scenes is appalling and needs to be investigated. It’s ironic how people who are supposed to be doing good deeds are really just wolves in sheep’s clothing. Beware

My son has done 3 sessions of the Early Risers program and has gotten great benefit from it with preschool preparation. The teachers are so nice and patient, the space is great, the program very consistent and challenging, and the activities educational and fun. My son loved his play class" and will miss it

Our family love this place! The staff is very personal, kind and helpful! Literally everyone, from receptionist, tutors, to management. They matched my son with tutors that serves his needs based on their professional assessment as well as his personality. For example, after one school year of tutoring, before entering summer intensive tutoring program this year, they reassessed his academic level as well as learning styles among other things. He is then placed with a new math teacher accordingly. It brought such happiness to my heart when I heard the new match teacher and my son bursting into laughing again and again during their 1st session together. They had lot in common! My tutor has lots in common with me too. Yes! You read it right. They offer Adult tutoring too!It is a safe place for us. We had an experience with one staff there that was not very nice. I causally mentioned to the receptionist at the time without any expectation. Immediately, she reported to proper channels, within the hour, management interviewed me and refunded that particular service fee too. Kids are supervised in the short periods when they are waiting for their tutors right after being dropped off, or after tutoring before being picked up. My son often plays World Map online game on the big screen during these waiting periods. The game was suggested by Alice, one of the managers. She helps my son with game if she could spare a bit of time. Other times, my son plays a board game with other kids. They have a very cooperatively team and very whole person based approach. I witnessed the ways staff treat kids with various capacities and needs. They are so kind and ready to help.We had experienced so uneasy phrases in the last a few months. They offered creative ways to support us through, sometimes, it is beyond their scope of work. I feel like I can reach out to them whenever I need, some times, even if I am not sure if it is within their scope of work or expertise. They always respond with best efforts and kindness.LDS makes a huge difference in our lives.I highly recommend you give it a try

LDS instructors, staff and board members are integrally connected through a shared passion to support children and youth with special learning abilities. LDS core values are shared by all at LDS, creating a positive, respectful workplace environment. At the LDS year-end celebration it was inspiring to hear so many moving “Mission Moment” stories of dedicated, thoughtful, caring and compassionate individuals positively changing the lives of LDS students. And the LDS spirit continues to rise with the ongoing hiring of additional instructors and staff, the building of new partnerships and the increasing amount of support from generous and thoughtful individual and corporate donors – all enabling LDS to help more children and youth in our community.

Working with others who are passionate about the cause and motivated by purpose is a unique environment.I would describe our team as talented, creative, collaborative, inclusive, open-minded, with a great sense of humour. What I love most about my job is the flexibility, work-life balance, and opportunities for growth and advancement! I feel very supported and valued, and look forward to helping move the mission forward and making a bigger impact in my community!

LDS Early Risers program has helped my family get a sense of direction on how to raise our 4 year old daughter. The educators and specialists were welcoming, kind and well versed in their field so much so that it positively impacted the way my daughter engaged in the class. My daughter enjoyed doing various activities at the centre and the team was very keen on not forcing the children to participate in different activities.
