Mike's Swim School

I recently started swim sessions and I cannot be happier. The coaches know how to adjust the program to suit the needs of all individuals.

Mike is an awesome swimming instructor. Professional and great communication. The pool and change area/washrooms are spotless. My son (age 9) was afraid of the deep end and disliked swimming lessons at a private company, so he was reluctant to learn. Mike was so welcoming and funny with the kids and after just 2 months of lessons, my son could comfortably swim the length of the pool. Now I’m not worried about him jumping into the deep end on his own and I’m so impressed with his confidence and joy for swimming. Both my kids enjoy lessons with Mike and look forward to every session. I’ll definitely be continuing my kids to higher levels and have signed myself up also to freshen up my swimming skills.

Lessons here have been great! They give great pointers on your stroke and have been extremely supportive.

We had an amazing experience. Mike is a great and very patient instructor. He worked with my 12 year old son this summer. My son enjoyed his lessons, improved a lot and became a more confident swimmer. The pool is a great size, very clean with seating area for parents. I have been extremely impressed with his teaching skills and techniques. We are looking forward to summer so we can resume our classes. Thank you Mike.

Mike is an excellent instructor no matter what your swim level, he teaches children to adults. Mike took the time to teach diving properly from both the edge of the pool and off the diving board. He helps to build confidence with swimmers and encourages them to strive for that next level. Mike's has a salt water pool that is a great size if you are planning to have multiple swimmers attend. He also has an outdoor change cabana and washroom which makes it very convenient. We would highly recommend Mike if you want to learn how to swim or even refine your swim skills.

My kids have been doing swim lessons with Mike for the last several years. They have successfully progressed in their skills and are now confident swimmers. Mike is an enthusiastic instructor who engages the kids to achieve their best. He is also an effective communicator of form and technique. Overall the kids really enjoyed their lessons with Mike!!

Been trying to learn to swim for 15 years. Finally decided to book some real lessons and after being ghosted by a bunch of different places, I reached out to Matt from Mike's swim school. He responded right away and scheduled our lessons at an affordable rate. After about 7 lessons, I'm now able to swim. He helped me figure out and get over the sticking points of why I wasn't ever successful on my own. Matt was friendly, funny and patient. Couldn't be happier with my experience

We had an amazing experience with Mike, my 3 children had swim lessons with him, and they excelled beyond any previous community centre swim classes they have taken in the past. My 4 year old and my 7 year old finally had the courage to jump off the diving board. My 9 year old finally perfected his front and back crawl. Mike is an excellent teacher, and my kids responded extremely well with him. I would absolutely recommend lessons with him. We can’t wait until next summer to do it again!

We have been going to Mike for a couple of years now and the progress he has made with my children has been amazing to say the least! Mike has a way of adapting his teaching style to meet the individual needs of each student. His patience and encouragement has helped my boys gain confidence in the pool and be comfortable in the water. I have gone to several swim schools in York Region and can say definitively that Mike is by far the best instructor we have had. :)
