Dave's Place Restaurant
We had called in a take out order, and the gentleman on the phone was very polite. We gave specific details about burger toppings, etc. When we arrived, the order was ready to go, but when we opened the food in the car, we were disappointed. We had asked for lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and ketchup on the kids' burger, but it was dry and had nothing on it, not even ketchup, and there were about 20 fries. The kids' chicken fingers had a very small portion of plum sauce, not enough for the two chicken fingers that came in the order. We also had an adult burger and the Asian chicken salad, both were fine but nothing special. I wouldn't return.

What this cozy small town grill may lack compared to large chains is instantly countered by the friendly and attentive family staff. In the best sense, it felt like stepping back in time, and though I don't live anywhere near Bancroft, I felt somehow part of the community while sitting at a table at Dave's Place. I had a late breakfast, happy to know it was still available well into the afternoon at 13:41.I may be of simple taste, but my order was accurate, fast to plate, and flawless.

We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children, we called ahead to reserve a spot as we didn't know how big the restaurant would be, the owner was very polite on the phone. As the other reviews stated the fish and chips were great! Our 5 year old daughter wanted fish and chips and we were not disappointed. The fish was served hot and tasted very fresh. The portions are quite large so 1 piece is enough for 1 adult. I had the burger and was equally happy. I elected to get a side salad with the burger and it was quite a large serving! Overall happy with our experience, we will be back if we stay in the town again.

Not impressed, especially for the prices being charged. (While I understand why restaurants are charging so much more these days, they need to be offering an exceptional atmosphere and service to try and justify their prices, which Dave's Place Restaurant doesn't.) Food was adequate, but portions (Again, for the prices being charged.) were on the small side. Lots of better value eating options available nearby which I'd recommend you try.

Dave's place is not what you would expect when you walk in the door. The best food in the town of bancroft hands down!! Myself and my family have been a number of times never to be disapointed with the quality of the food his team makes. Reasonable prices. Its a must see if you have never been or are just pasing threw ask for the Is potato soup its maid fresh every time and it shows!

Really unassuming restaurant in Bancroft. Service was great, though I had to wait about 10 minutes extra for my burger to be ready.The family working is really friendly. Menu is good..classic Canadian food. Prices are cheap so and it's really good value.We got the onions rings, burger, and fish and chips. Burger might have been cooked from frozen, but it was fine. It was like Burger King quality id say but was huge and the fries were amazing.Onions rings were delicious and a good portion. The girlfriend loved the fish and chips. Good fish flavor, not too greasy.Overall, 5/5 from me and we will definitely be returning the next time we visit Bancroft. Better than Eagles Nest in my opinion and a better business to support if you want some quick eats instead of Maccas or Subway.

Great little spot in bancroft!! Heard fantastic things about it so decided to try it out for supper.Delicious meal. I had BBQ Pulled Pork on a bun with fries. Hubby had a Hot Hamburger dinner.For the price it was reasonable. Fries are real" and were AMAZING!! Only issue I had

We drove 4 hours to Bancroft for the Princess Sodalite Mine and a meal. We ended up eating here at Dave's Place because the place I wanted to go was closed for their holidays.Let me tell you, I'm soo glad they were closed and my family got to experience this amazing family run dining experience.The menu is reasonably priced. They have an amazing selection of food. Their waiter was friendly, smiling, attentive, and quick.Our food was served hot fresh off the grill, I mean my ribs were warm to the very last bite. The portions were perfect! Looked like too much to eat, but I ate every last bite!We ordered an adult and child portion of chicken fingers and fries, the kids both said they were THE BEST chicken fingers they had ever had! My daughter ordered the kids chicken and rib platter, devoured it! My love ordered Surf n turf, steak medium rare and tempura shrimp. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly! The shrimp were large, juicy and delicious! The mixed veg served with his meal were phenomenal, one of the best things I have ever tasted. Had I known thats what it was, I would have politely asked to sub coleslaw that was coming with my meal for them. My friend ordered the hot beef sandwich, he inhaled it before I could ask him how it was. He said, It's absence says it all!" I ordered the rib and wing platter. The ribs there are AMAZING

Dave's Place Restaurant
When we first pulled up we weren't sure. It's a renovated house and looked empty. But we went inside and there was a couple there talking to a young man. They were obviously regulars so we decided to stay. The portions are really good size and the food was fresh and tastey. I would highly recommend this place. For two of us it came to $29. For lunch. You can't beat those kind of prices.
