Some of the best steaks I've ever had have come from Pig & Olive. Aged beef is fantastic! Friendly service, and a well laid out meat counter makes for a happy customer. It can get a little pricey for the AAA beef, but is well worth it. They do also offer AA 12oz NY strips, 6 for $50 pre-sealed and ready to eat or freeze. Awesome deal!!

Supper tonight? Pig & Olive has great variety, great cuts of meat and great ideas. I ran in late one afternoon stuck with no dinner plan and guests on the way. This very kind and professional crew was fantastic and dinner was delightful! I am very happy and impressed! I must remember to take photos next time.

Amazing shop! 10/10! The owner and everyone that work here are super friendly and professional. They go above and beyond for your all your needs. I'm new to the area & so happy I've found this Local butcher shop in Kingston, I couldn't recommend them more! 5 ⭐ for sure- for service, cleanliness, professionalism and having a great atmosphere. Amazing shop. They have the loss leader $4 lb wings in many different flavors to choose from and an amazing selection of other great meats and packs (like 10 lb ground beef for $40). I just moved to Kingston and I think I found my butcher shop.

Had to return rotten meat a few times, for both wings and ribs. My friend also had a similar experience. They were not apologetic at all, and considering how steep their prices are you think there would be some quality assurance or customer care.Additionally I question their hygiene practices. They are extremely anti-mask which could extend to ignoring other public health and food handling measures.Bring your money somewhere, like literally anywhere else. I would recommend Bob's Butcher or sourcing directly from a farm like DoubleJay.

Technically it’s 3.5 stars, but there is no such thing here. Got prime rib steak and t bone steak for husband’s birthday - the meat was local grass fed beef from Wolfe Island and it was very good; the t bone in my opinion was better but it could be a matter of taste. What I didn’t like is the amount of old brown beef that was laying in the fridge and the general ambivalence of the staff. There was so much old beef it was hard to even see any of the fresh cuts! I also came in and asked the butcher for the best steak and he reluctantly recommended the two cuts, as if he was doing me a favour. Generally the store looked a bit messy and the brown beef in the fridge was kind of off-putting so I’ll probably try somewhere else next time.

I recently had an order for several pound of bones needed for a rich bone broth recipe. The pig and olive had a steady supply to fulfill my order by the next business day and the bones were the highest quality I’ve ever had for broth (neck, knuckles, discarded rib, etc), and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this butcher! This order helped me to make the best, richest bone broth I’ve ever had.

Pig & Olive, marks up their prices, false advertising on their meats, very seldom do they actually have grade A quality chicken or AAA beef. 1 or two of the staff members are GREAT, but service cannot carry a business.Owner is one of those clichè “make money, don’t care about staff or customers” type kinda guy.PLEASE if you get the opportunity, buy your meat at virtually any other butcher in town. You’ll notice the quality difference immediately .Barriefield meat market, brothers meats, the meat market, gilmores, hell sometimes even Loblaws rivals pig and olive. Needless to say please to your own research on the meat you buy. People just want things because it’s easy, not because it’s smart.
