Cawker & Shields Optometry

They didn’t let my wife in because she had our 18 month old daughter with her. So disrespectful. So unprofessional for a doctor’s office.

Our family and extended family have seen Dr. Le multiple times over the years. She is compassionate listening to concerns and efficient and accurate with her testing. She is able to keep young kids (6,8,10) engaged for testing. The staff at the office are also great. They are friendly and chat with you while wait.

My husband and I both visited Dr. Le and were both very satisfied with the care she took in the examination and her patience in explaining the issues we both had with our eyes. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Shields is absolutely fantastic and she understands my unique eye condition and special needs! She’s fantastic!

They almost didn’t pass me because my kids have had a runny nose for over two weeks. Then when I was 15 minutes late after travelling 45 minutes to get there through 2 road blocks and construction sites, They snickered, talked and whispered about me, then made me wait 25 minutes before telling me I am too late. I then turned around and drove back home 45 minutes upon which their answer was “please reschedule”. Find a more understanding doctor and office that has a heart and understands kids.

Very unprofessional. My 4 year old had an appointment today, I got there and they asked me to double mask him. Which he wouldn’t accept. Then they asked me to leave my 18 months old daughter out because I was not allowed to take her with me inside. It was hard enough for me to get my kids at -25 degrees to an appointment but how unfair can some people be with understanding a mom’s situation. I have no one at home to take care of my baby. I will never ever go back there. The most unprofessional doctor’s office I have ever been to. Don’t waste your money and time. They just want your money. There is no respect for the patients or their situation. Who would expect a 4 year old to double mask or a 18 month old to stay in the waiting area with an stranger.

I wouldn’t go back to see Dr Cawker for any reason. She is rude, cold, and has absolutely no personality. And spouting her politics to a patient (me) at the time of their little strike action bc they weren’t getting enough money is entirely unprofessional!!! And judging by the other reviews I’d say I’m in good company. Definitely not suited to any job where she has to deal with the public. She should be working in the back of a lab somewhere where no one goes!

My last visit to this optometrist could have been a lot better. Dr. Cawker spoke to me loudly and in my opinion rudely, giving me no explanation as to what was bothering my eye, and simply walked away to her office - leaving me wondering if she was coming back or not. The situation left me feeling quite awkward and I doubt I will ever go back. I cannot speak to Dr. Shields as I've never met him/her.

I have been going to Dr. Shields for the last 25 years and have never once had a bad experience with her or her staff. I can confidently say she is not only an exceptional optometrist, but one of the best medical professionals I know. She always takes the time to answer any questions you have and explain everything in detail. She genuinely cares about her patients and it shows.

The team here have been taking care of my eyes since I was a kid. You likely won't get same day/week service when looking to book an appointment, but the care is quality.
