We built a home with a SRHBA member after meeting the builder at the Home Styles trade show. When things went south with the builder we went to the SRHBA. The SRHBA did not help at all. If you are building with a 'reputable' SRHBA builder and expect the SRHBA to help you if things go south, don't, they support their members over customers.

I submited my complain on the 27th of June and i did not get a resolution until on the 1st of September. No one called to ask me questions about my complain. During all my follow up emails i was told the committee are meeting on it. They arrive at a decision that builder did not breach any code of conduct even when pictures of my unfinish work were submitted. They never ask for signed contract. Nor take any oral testimony or ask to see messages exchage. What a committee! No justice here folks .Dont ever think of going to meet these people. They are there to protect their fee paying members.
