Tom McDonnell's Service Center

I've been going to Tom's for the few years I have been driving and always get excellent service from the guys there. Ian has always been nothing but great to me and where I know nothing in terms of car maintenance and repair, he has always been very informative. This will always be the shop that does my car work.

Tom and crew were happy to accommodate my big and cumbersome work van when most other shops weren't willing. Very happy to have found these guys. The service has always been great and whether you're dealing with Tom or any of the people working there you can expect friendly and professional service. Prices are very competitive and they'll offer thoughtful and honest advice. Highly recommend!

Professional, trust worthy, knowledgeable staff. I believe this is a family run business and I started going to them when my regular mechanic couldn’t fit me in and then later after he retired. I always heard great things about them and I too have been pleased with their service. Never feel like I’m getting the run around. They tell me when I need work done and when I should keep an eye on something. Fair prices and I haven’t had any issues with their work. I have a 2012 jeep and a 2019 Ford edge. I go to them for my oil change, tire change, mvi, and when I need their opinion on vehicle related things. They’ve replaced my brakes and rotors, changed my battery and alternator, completed check engine light diagnostics and I’ll be going to them and a few other identify what’s wrong type of scenarios. I recommend them to everyone. Also conveniently located on Clifton, on major bus route and close-to downtown, to the north end, to the bridge, to the west-end. Will be going to them for all my car needs.

I have had the pleasure of dealing with the McDonnell family for over 15 years. In all that time Tom, Ian and his mom have shown nothing but integrity and competence. Tom and his wife demonstrated these virtues each time I took my car to be serviced and they have passed them on fully to their son Ian. I have never been happier to write a review and I pass on the recommendation with enthusiasm every chance I get.

Fixed a leaky fuel hose on my XTrail. They were upfront about what it would take to fix, and managed to take care of it fairly inexpensively without dropping the fuel tank. Checked my engine code as well, and didn't charge me for it. Great service.

I have only great compliments to share from my experience with Tom McDonnell's Service Center. In the process of buying a used car I decided to hire a professional mechanic to review the vehicle for any serious issues. I spent several hours calling around, finding it very difficult to get a last minute appointment with less than 24 hours notice. The friendly and professional staff at Tom McDonnell's Service Center were able to get me in at the perfect time for my appointment.In a very reasonable amount of time I got a call from the team with the results of the inspection. So impressed! It took no time at all, and yet the inspection was very thorough. The lead mechanic even took the car for a short drive to see if there were any concerning noises. We felt totally comfortable going back to the dealership with the confidence to buy the car, and to negotiate the price a bit lower.We immediately scheduled a follow up appointment to finalize the MVI. These folks are great. You always hear people say: 'find a good local mechanic.'Well, I found mine.
