Baby Sign Language Classes - My Smart Hands Calgary

We had a great time in Level 1 baby sign language; it is a fun family activity. Super helpful and wonderful instructor. Small welcoming classes where we learned a lot. Looking forward to learning more in Level 2.

My daughter and I started level 1 when she was 7 months, within a couple of weeks she understood 2 or 3 signs. She would visibly calm down at the finished/all done sign at meal time when she was trying to get out of her chair. It was pretty amazing! We just finished level 2...She's almost 1 and I think she did her first sign of finished/all done, it was so amazing!! The class format is great, it's songs and signs which keep the littles engaged. Laura is great at explaining and answering questions that aren't even in the book if you want to learn other signs that come up in your day to day. Definitely one of the top activities I've done while on mat leave.

My daughter and I completed the two levels of My Smart Hands. We had fun and learned so much. It's amazing for us to experience less frustration because we can communicate more clearly with each other. Thanks Laura!

Melody is so enthusiastic and passionate about sign language which made myself and my baby so excited to learn at each class. She is kind and warm. We loved learning with her and am inspired to keep going and learn more. We learnt through songs which my baby loved and helped keep her engaged. It's a fun way to learn and often I will sing the songs to her and sign and although I get some funny looks at the moment, she loves to watch my hands and listen to the music. I would highly recommend this course.

Loved these classes for my son when he as old enough. Material was easy for parents to follow and teach their kids. The classes were small and interactive; fun for both parents and children.Melody is a great instructor. Great personality and really good with the children. So much fun.I was able to teach what I learned to my other two younger children.I found that it relieved a lot of stress from not being able to determine what my baby wanted. My son was able to sign way before he could vocalize words; before he was able to walk. It was wonderful.I highly recommend anyone to take this course. You will not regret it.

Thanks Melody for running a great class on baby sign language - you are a great teacher and we appreciated being able to join on Zoom during covid. Our 6.5 month old has already started signing, which is so great at this early age (and who knew his first word would be dog???) Looking forward to joining the next level of classes. I would highly recommend this to everyone who has a new baby!
