Kita No Donburi
I checked this place out for the first time and was surprised by how huge the portions were! Definitely come with a big appetite or plan to share. I ordered the spicy chashu donburi which was flavourful and had a good balance of meat, rice, and salad. I found that a lot of pieces were hard to eat though, and almost had a jerky-like texture. I also ordered the takoyaki which was crispy when fresh with lots of extra toppings. My food came out quickly and I left overall very full and content.

The food is great! We come here almost every time we are downtown because the location is convenient and the food is so good. Plus the prices are really reasonable for downtown Vancouver, and good portion sizes (with what I've had here so far anyway)

Great Meal for a Great price. Will go back for sure. I had the Chirashi Don which was very good! They have so many options for food.You can choose between water or green tea (unlimited refill) which was nice, the tea is delicious.

Whoa, what a busy spot! Definitely legit for donburi and everyone knows it. I recommend coming outside of peak lunch hours if you want a table quickly but the vibe and the food is totally worth it. I noticed many folks picking up the take-out they ordered online and this is most definitely what I will be doing next since I work 1 block away. Also did I mention? Portion size is huge and price is very affordable!!

Delicious Pork Don. Very reasonable price. It's more like a fast japanese food restaurant. It's nice that they offer free cup of tea to customers.

Excellent donburi and curry place. I loved the katsu-mori curry and my parents really enjoyed their beef teriyaki and chicken karage dons.Would definitely come back here again. Recommend eating there in person over takeout

Had a great 1st meal in Vancouver after flying over from the UK. We had teriyaki beef don and chicken katsu, and some tea and really enjoyed it. The service was very cheerful and quick. The portions are large by British standards. This was a great experience -thank you !

My friend recommended this place. Service was great and there was a lot of food options to choose from! The katsu curry was a lot bigger than I expected so good for the price in my opinion. Not too busy at lunch time either so we didn't have to wait long.

Hot, fresh, fast yummy lunch delivered right on our table. I enjoyed it so much even tho it was a quick lunch. Tasty comfort Japanese food. We ordered oyako Don and Don katsu with curry sauce. Yummy!

It was 6 years ago when I first had dining experience here, and they still got it.I always order Unagi don here, as it is served in stone bowl which make the don taste better for me. Miso soup is complementary if you order a meal.Staffs were always super friendly and as they spoke some Japanese, it feels like I was having authentic Japanese experience.They also do some seasonal off-menu, and I loved their jaru soba too.If you are near Waterfront and wondering what to eat, here is your place!
