About the Business

Parking | The Village of Lions Bay | ON-STREET PAY PARKING AND METERED PARKING NOW IN EFFECT At 2.53 square kilometers, the small, picturesque seaside Village of Lions Bay on the eastern shore of Howe Sound is one of the smallest municipalities in BC. With narrow residential streets and such a small land mass, parking is always at a premium, particularly in the summer months. Please drive slowly through our community! The roads are narrow, curvy and steep with no sidewalks. Watch for pedestrians, cyclists and kids playing on the roadways.

Sunset Trailhead Public Pay Parking
It's a parking lot, wish there were more spots so make sure you come early or be prepared to park further away from the trailhead. Somewhat pricy if I remember

Awful parking rates and even worse parking fines. Absolutely despicable.

PSA: Please make sure to always check and pay for parking. Parking ticket here is $195 if paid within 28 days and discounted to $100 if paid within 14 days. After 28 days, it’s $240.Having parked here for free the first time in mid January, 2021, I did not realise that this parking lot turns into a paid parking lot somewhere between January and April. On my second visit, I was distracted and unintentionally missed the meter carrying on the assumption that it was free parking from my first visit. I came back to my car 5 hours later to find the most expensive parking ticket/lesson I’ve ever received in my life, if not in the world.

$3/hour parking, disgusting porta potties, but it provides you access to some fantastic hiking. The hikes are amazing, however the parking is overly expensive.

Can pay with a card or use the app. Indigo app. I guess that’s helpful if you really don’t know how long the hike will take and need to add more time.

I talked to the mayor of lions bay... His excuse and response for the over priced parking was ridiculous. Money hungry politicians in a yuppy neighborhood, typical. 25$ to park for a hike. Gross

They only 4-5 spots here and in the summer be prepared to park your cars 1-2 Kms from the trail starting point. You need arrive early even for that and keep your fingers crossed during long weekends.

Maybe the most expensive trailhead parking I've seen at 3$/h. But the trails and views are worth it. You can park at the elementary school lower lot for free but it's further away.
