Students beware they’re a terrible company just looking to take advantage of students . It’s been impossible to get someone in to fix broken things in the apartment. They also ticketed us for parking in our own lot after we paid $170 for passes and are refusing to pay the other ones. They are impossible to communicate with and I couldn’t recommend them less.

Terrible company, our roof is caving in on itself. We have been notifying them for 2 months now and still nothing. They are too cheap to actually fix the issue. Do not rent from these people.

Would not recommend this company for your housing needs. Poor communication from staff. Taken advantage of often for being a young student and not being aware of what my rights are as a tenant. On multiple occasions had maintenance representatives come into my home without knocking and no email communication of the visit. If you still chose to rent here, learn what your rights are as a tenant to protect yourself and your money!

Sent email to charge over $500 for a broken microwave (only handle) which is more than 8 yrs old. Refuse to reply the concern and set payment deadline unilaterally. This company is ridiculous and being very unprofessional when dealing with issues (e.g avoid replying concerns and all they did is asking for money). I know housing resources in Waterloo is very limited, but please do not rent from this company!!

Avoid Domus at all costs. They charge you for ridiculous things, and when you bring up issues with your apartment that they are legally required to take action for, they break the law by delaying repairs for months or ignoring you altogether. Had bugs all over the apartment, leaks, holes in the wall, and more. Domus takes advantage of the fact that you're a student and don't have time to pursue legal action. Don't sign with Domus! You don't need the added stress of living here while you're a student.

After graduation I returned they keys and I still have the receipt. Domus did not return the key deposit but every time I arrived they said it was still processing" and that I would recieve it "soon". After about six months I tried to take them to small claims court and they rescheduled the court date and location so I wouldn't be able to attend. I missed the court date and ended up paying both the court and Domus Housing after returning the key and recieving guarantees. Do not choose Domus Housing."

Worst leasing company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Do not listen to concerns of the tenants, and charge an extremely high damage fee when nothing was damaged. Staff are extremely rude and disrespectful on a daily basis. Upon moving in the unit had several broken windows and doors. Wish I could give them below one star. DO NOT rent from their units.

A very disrespectful organization. Charged a ridiculous amount of money for damages that we were unable to locate. When asked to show where the damages were, they refused and said the money just had to be paid. Extremely unprofessional towards students and do not care about the tenants at all. The worst rental company experience I have ever had.

I wish i could rate lower than 1 star. They couldn't care less about you when it comes to stuff that they are liable for, but if you make one tiny slip up, they'll charge you that no student would ever be able to pay. My place flooded at one point due to a faulty sprinkler system, and domus decided to charge my roommate for it, even though the exact same thing happened 2 floors up two days later. On my move out day, I had sectioned off my things for the cleaners to not touch so i could come pick them up at a later date, I even had a person who was still living there to not throw it out. I came back to find out that it had been thrown out anyways.

0 stars. Rented from them for two years, nothing special as a student. But working with them to deal with problems/maintenance/leases was a nightmare. Would always recommend finding housing through ANY other source. Difficult and inability to be flexible over any issue
