Really cool place filled with really nice people.

We liquidated my relative's large estate through AHW and it was a painless experience. It was during the height of Covid but they managed to accommodate us and tolerated the scores of emails we sent and phonecalls we made. The prices realized exceeded our expectations and payment was prompt - we would definitely go with them again!

Buyers Beware. Unlike others, this Auction House does not indicate when an item has a Reserve prior to asking and accepting bids. Two days ago, during a live, online auction, a starting bid was posted from the Floor but, seconds later, the item was Passed----Not Sold. I sent them a message asking why the Floor bid was not accepted? This happened twice during the short time that I followed their live, online auction. The COO refused to answer my question. The Auction business is poorly regulated in Ontario. January 2023April 2023 Follow-up.Your reply is misleading. You refused to answer my question. During the January auction, why was the item Passed----Not Sold after you accepted and posted the Floor bid on HiBid?If an item has a Reserve, it is indicated prior to accepting bids. (Everyone knows, the Reserve amount is not disclosed, only the fact that the item being sold is subject to a Reserve.) Auctions must be transparent in order for Buyers to bid with confidence and trust. Anyone can observe your auctions on Hibid without registering. I have attended and participated in auctions for over 45 years.

I cannot overstate how wonderful and helpful the staff at A.H. Wilkens have been. I have found them to be knowledgeable and extremely competent. Any questions I have had have been answered and all phone or e mail messages promptly returned. It has been a pleasure dealing with them in every capacity.

My husband and I recently downsized from our large family home to a condo. We had to sell a lot of furniture, decor items, and household goods in a short period of time, and this all had to happen during the pandemic lockdown. We explored many options including consignment stores, and found that auction was the simplest, and most cost effective way to go. AH Wilkens was delightful to work with - very knowledgeable and professional. ... and we were pleasantly surprised by the prices that some of our possessions fetched at auction. There’s nothing like competition to drive up the price!

Rude & Inconsiderate Auction PlaceI have asked them several times not to send any email notices as I am not subscribed to any auctions to receive updates. It appears they simply do not care or show any consideration for others as the emails keep coming. I will never be a customer because of their negative reaction in my case.
