Joe & Barb's NOFRILLS Oshawa

UpdateHas a self checkout but it's never opened. Owner needs to fire some managers.Poor service. Does not price match their banner stores. Refused price match for Shoppers, Loblaws, Sobeys, Metro and Giant Tiger. All locations that are within their area. Refused to give a reason except that this No Frills in special. Absolutely ridiculous. People only shop at this store for their cheaper prices and because they price match, but if A list grocery stores are cheaper why would anyone come to this place?

Nice store! Great setup. Easy to navigate the isles. Impressive selection of products, including baked goods and ready to eat sections.

The store is clean and everything but the prices are WAY TOO HIGH. It's a shame too because no frills used to be unstoppable price wise. Oh well.

Finally, a NoFrills with decent produce in Oshawa. I REALLY dislike their layout, though. Also, notice that their bunkers are usually close to empty every time I stop by as if they are not ordering enough or just are not displaying it well. Floor staff seem nice and are quite helpful and informative, but the cashiers seem to rather stand around and gossip rather than help the customers I see standing in their lines. Good thing their SC are always empty, so I can avoid a wait.

What is the importance of a bag? ...that's a good question. All I can tell you is the extreme significance it had to me during my visit tonight to this No Frills.It had been a tougher day then usual. Heck, many of us have these from time to time. Today was a bit more challenging then others. I had to run out to pick up a few things that I have forgot to get earlier. Went and did the self checkout, and there were no bags. No big deal, I can manage with my 3 items.As I was heading out a kind young lady (hopefully this is how she identifies) stopped me and said you look like you could use a bag

Always disappointed at this nofrills location. Why even have sales if you don't have the product to sell?

I found all the items I was looking for without any staff assistance. The aisles are wide enough to accommodate the heavy foot traffic that seems be a regular occurrence there. I can't say enough about the additional support provided with the installation of the self checkout machines. It has significantly reduced my shopping time and improved my shopping experience.

Editing my 5 rating to 1 and if I could give a 0 I would. I used to love this store but it has taken a drastic downturn in the last 2 years.For the 3rd time in a month I have left with less than half of my groceries due to severe understocking. Whole shelves empty and missing essentials such as cucumber (which was a flyer item) fries, healthy lunch snacks, pudding and more. Multiple fridges and freezers down broken and the store was filthy.When asked in December it was due to a water issue. It's now almost February with little to no improvement. When asked today I was told the truck was there with items but they were waiting to stock until tonight?!I will be using one of the 10 other local stores in the area instead of this one in the future.

The Staff are nice and the store is clean. BUT plan to shop late.If you go to the store before 12 noon the produce shelves are empty and sale items are rarely stocked. I typically shop between 8 and 10 am. I ask the staff to check for a empty shelf item and they always say the truck is not in yet.They need have the staff come in an hour early and have the truck (if this is the issue) delivery earlier or the night before.
