Blakes Moving & Storage

We recently made our second move with Blakes and we are super pleased we made the choice.Original move was from Kelowna to Victoria - it was the first time we hired professional movers. They were efficient (beyond belief) and there were no surprises. Absolutely no damage to our contents.This time was a bit different, our move was from Victoria to Calgary but we had to store our contents for 3.5 weeks at their warehouse in Williams Lake. This meant everything that went on to the truck had to be unloaded into storage and the whole thing repeated on move day.We were hopeful that it would all turn out well as we accumulated a few more large delicate items. We weren't disappointed, in fact, we were thrilled that aside from very, very, very minor scuffs - everything arrived in perfect condition.Plus, the cost was significantly less than the 'big guys'.We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the crew from Blakes for your move.Karen & Geoff

Moved from Edmonton to Vancouver Island. With my nervousness, Shelly was always there to answer any questions and Adam was considerate, on time, and very helpful. My stuff was loaded and delivered well wrapped and without incident. Would highly recommend.

We moved with Blakes from Winnipeg to Southern BC. The driver and helper showed up on time and were very polite, they amazingly loaded up our belongings on to the front half of the truck in to such a small space I was very impressed.When the truck was unloaded in to our storage locker I was less than impressed. I discovered how they fit all of our items in to such a small space. Our items were crammed in the front of the truck to make room for another family moving from our area as well. Boxes clearly marked “Fragile” were put under other heavy boxes. My TV which was also clearly market with a “THIS SIDE UP” sticker was shoved in sideways, some rubber totes were even loaded upside down. All my items were unloaded in to my 10’x30’ locker in such a way that I cannot get to anything in the locker. Many items were damaged or broken because of the carelessness the items were loaded/unloaded.

Phenomenal! They have a very efficient system to get a quote and their pricing was extremely competitive even in comparison to nation-wide shipping companies. Furthermore, their staff went above and beyond. They happily disassembled and reassembled all of bed frames at no extra cost. They were friendly and worked around our children being in the home. Lastly, the company was not finicky about the boxes we chose. I will certainly be using them again for our next move.

We moved from Williams Lake to Victoria and Blakes were exceptional in their wrapping, packing and unpacking. They were respectful in handling all our things and were superb in their quality of work. Received a quote from Shelly which included All additional fees and charges unlike all the other companies. Provided an in depth estimate with clear communication throughout. Moving day came and the crew were exceptionally friendly and efficient. Blakes provides storage for our goods for one month plus a day (free of charge) and we're even able to deliver our goods 2 days earlier than expected. Everything arrived exactly as we had packed it, with no damage. The charges were EXACTLY as estimated with no surprises.
