I was really disappointed in the outcome of my dealings with hickey, we were quoted a estimate of between 6500. and 7000 and ended up with a bill of 8600.00. The live stream could only be watched at the time of the service and we couldn't go back and watch it later. The visitors lounge was emptied of our personal effects, including coats and purses while we were in the chapel, these items were left unattended in the lobby. My father had thought they would help him fill out the CPP forms, but instead they just gave him the forms in a file. They were all sweet and sympathetic while making the arrangement but the minute you sign the paperwork, their quality of support ends. I wish i had paid more attention to the reviews written here previously, however the location was a convenience, however given the events that occured I would have gladly relocated to st.john's for better treatment and service. I will never be able to watch my mom's service.

The experience i had with Hickeys still hurts today. My husband died of a massive heart attack in my arms. I was told on the day of the funeral when i asked for a couple of minutes alone with my husband to say goodbye NOT TO MAKE WAVES " this was said in front of people that could hear what the male funeral director was saying. I was rushed out of the room by the same person (funeral director) i returned to the lobby and the room was still vacant. I was told that if i paid the funeral off within a month plus a couple of days that interest would not be charged but when I returned to make another payment i was told that i would be charged interest if not paid within 30 days. I contact Hickey's Funeral Home outside of Canada via email to start my father's funeral arrangements. I was very pleased on the quick response and their true kindness towards my Mother and myself during this sad time. And also how they worked closely together with St Thomas Villa Nova Church to made Church service special for our families. Thank you.

I can't thank the staff enough for everything they did for me and my family during the passing of my father. Very kind, compassionate, caring staff. Absolutely amazing people.

The man I dealt with when my father died (I am 21, could have used a bit of compassion.) was very harsh and mean. It was all about money and they wanted us in and out as fast as possible. When I asked about getting something reprinted for my father funeral because they printed the wrong thing, the man walked out of the room yelling no a bunch of times. He gave me 5 minutes to see my father's dead body before kicking me out. (I should add that I lived away and hadn't seen my dad in over a year!) Stay far away folks. They ruined the last experience I ever had with my father.
