The worst food I had. Fries is soggy, chicken fingers were spicy for children. Beef pie oversalted, definitely not made in house, from can.

Excellent food. The chicken tenders were some of the best I've ever had. Flavorful even without sauce, even though I got two wing sauces on the side. Fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I'd be happy to go back.

BEST pub fare around, hands down! This has been my go-to restaurant for years. The food is all made in house, and is all delicious and super comforting. Always great portion sizing also. The staff are all super friendly and provide excellent customer service whether you're dining in, or taking food home. 10/10

My parents love this place and have been coming here to the Upper James location since it opened over 10 years ago. The food is consistently delicious and fresh as they say and over the years I've come from time to time and I would agree. It was my dad's birthday so of course we came to celebrate (he happened to be born on St. Patrick's Day so it's always a bit tough getting a table and they have a special menu that's only for that day but it's to be expected. The staff was helpful and kind with good service despite the chaos of a packed out place. We had to take the table on the patio which was chilly but thankfully they wrapped the patio with vapour barrier and had 3 propane heaters out there so we were nice and warm except for the feet where you could feel a bit of a chill but it was fine. We all ordered the same- Guinness steak pie with a pint of Guinness for my parents and a tea for me and hot chocolate for my wife. The food was excellent, the puff pastry on top was fresh, light and flaky. The steak was beautifully tender and well seasoned, accompanied by mixed vegetables and the famous Guinness sauce. It was our first time out at a restaurant as new parents and everything went well. We'll keep coming back here for years to come.

Came here for dinner/lunch, very cozy! I had the French Onion Soup, hubby had the Steak Pie. Both were delicious! We'll be here again :)

This restaurant is steady. You can count on the experience being good. The food is always freshly made and tasty. The server was as friendly and efficient as always. the price was in line with other similar places. So why not 5 stars? 5 stars is reserved for very good... everything. This place is very close to that. Don't hesitate to eat here, you will be pleased with the experience. We will be back.

This was our first patio visit in 2021 and we loved it! Staff was happy to have us, there's a great vibe, good music, the perfect IPA and food didn't disappoint. Brisket mac and cheese and fish tacos (see pics) were filling and delicious.
