Very helpful, and knowledgeable staff here at petland. Helped my wife and I get a beautiful chameleon that is very healthy. 4 stars however because some advice given was wrong when purchasing the litter critter. But overall, decent service. Decent price on crickets too. Thanks petland for good service.

Friendly and helpful staff. The store is also very clean and well-organized. I really like that they have a pretty good amount of selection when it comes to reptiles and small animals. BUT they are very ill informed on their hamster and rabbit care. They house their hamsters is cages that are WAY too small and in the information pamphlets they recommend products and cages that are not suitable for a hamster to have a happy and healthy life. Whenever I’m in there I usually see a solitary rabbit. Rabbits are social animals and always do better in bonded pairs. I also would love to see the small pet area back to how it was during covid. So that you are free to look at the animals but could only pet them and take a closer look if you are truly interested and had a staff member with you. If you are interested in getting a pet please do thorough research on your own.

The enclosures are always dirty and almost every tank has dead fish in it.The staff (for the most part) are great. However if i owned this establishment, I would reconsider having a fish manager" who likes to provide ludicrous and false information. (Such has pythons being able to differentiate between adults and children

My family and I have come in a few times because my kids really want a pet and have been doing their research before choosing an animal to care for. We went in to look at the Guinea pigs and bearded dragons today. We spoke to a young man and his name tag said jumping spider something and he spoke to us about the pros and cons between the Guinea pigs and we held a Guinea pig as well. We had concerns about allergies and he said he had a hay allergy as well so it might be something to consider if choosing a Guinea pig. He was very friendly and informative. We spoke with a young lady in the reptile department and she spoke to us about the bearded dragons. Her name tag said kiwi something. She was very knowledgeable about the bearded dragons and other reptiles and explained the pros and cons of owning one. Great staff. Shout out to these young people for taking the time to talk to us about these animals.

Staff is so nice and helpful, and the layout of the store makes sense. I had to take away one star only because the selection isn't quite as extensive as some larger pet stores, but the prices seem on par which is great.

This pet land location is extremely uneducated on small animal care, especially Syrian hamsters. They set a horrible and abusive example of proper hamster care. They sell inhumane “ready to go” enclosures for older hamsters that are too mature to be kept with the babies. These enclosures are too small, as the minimum space for Syrian hamsters is 450 square inches. When I was in this location the hamsters were bar chewing and pacing around the enclosure which is a stress behaviour. These hamsters are already stressed and traumatized from the inadequate living conditions provided and sold by this location. On top of inadequate space, a lot of these enclosures do not have wheels; if the enclosure does have a wheel, it is a mouse wheel which is much too small and the hamster cannot even stand on the wheel. The minimum wheel size for Syrian hamsters is 10 inch diameter. I spoke with the manager about my concerns, and she was very condescending and defensive. She told me that the isolated hamsters were kept in these enclosures due to fighting. No duh, Syrian hamsters are solitary animals and need to be separated when they are 8-10 weeks old. They will fight to the death when kept together, but if you are keeping them in inhumane enclosures they will end up dying in your pet store regardless. It is heart breaking to see that this is the example a pet store is setting for new hamster owners. These inadequate, inhumane enclosures are for sale with the traumatized older hamsters. This location needs much better education on small animal care. The petland by ikea in Calgary is a great example of proper hamster care!! Instead of supporting petland airdrie, it is worth it to make the trip into Calgary to purchase healthy hamsters from an educated staff team who can give you great advice on proper Syrian hamster care.

We had the privilege of meeting with Devon. We have a snail problem in our aquarium that we discussed with Devon. He is quite knowledgeable about the snails and was able to recommend three solutions. We are going to try one of the solutions, but Devon advised us that snails are extremely hard to get rid of. Devon is very personable and it was a pleasure doing business with him. We bought a fish that would help with the snails and a couple of other fish for the tank. All the fish that we bought today are guaranteed for a month.

Staff are always very welcoming and helpful. The animals seem healthy and well looked after. They often have birds that most pet stores do not have. This African Grey is one of the most recent ones that have been brought in.

Very poorly maintained...The staff seems very much so under trained and not overly involved in their respective hobby locations. The reptiles were far too small/young to be for sale or even displayed, the tanks were not in a clean fashion and seemed to not have been cleaned in a few days. The excuse of the employee was that they aren't supposed to touch it" that often...very poor and I'm sad for the reptiles there. The aquariums were in much the same condition. Water was cloudy and fish seemed to likely be over-fed regularly.Overall
