I contacted MTL for an estimate on a bathroom renovation in downtown Montreal. I had a good conversation with Zack where I was very upfront about living in a walk up building in a dense area of the city. I know my project isn't the ideal job, so I like to give people a heads up and let them opt out before I take time out of my schedule and meet with them. Zack understood and said it was fine. On the day of our appointment, he was running late and I waited- only to get a phone call 40min later that he couldn't find parking. I asked about rescheduling and was told he wouldn't be able to do the project at all because he couldn't find parking that day downtown during rush hour. Okay, fine- I just wished I hadn't taken off work early and spent over an hour waiting for such a flaky disappointment. I get it working downtown is not super easy for a contractor, but I just expect way more from a professional. I've worked with other contractors in the area and they have a parking budget and understand city permits.Robin was the person who refused to reschedule and never replied to my follow up email. I have had no communication from them since then. It's truly disheartening to receive such a disingenuous reply a month later.

MTL Contractors undertook a reno project of the main floor of our home - primarily kitchen reno - which included the removal of a supporting wall and subsequent installation of a support beam. We really appreciated how the team worked WITH us to manage within our budget and to our expectations and needs. They thought of details we did not and discussed the unexpected hiccups" with us to find solutions. As is normal with just about any reno project

MTL Contractors renovated our kitchen and dining room last winter. The wall between both rooms was taken down and they remodelled the whole into one big beautiful room that included a reading nook. After a few months of enjoying this new space, we can confirm that this is by far our favourite room in the house! For anyone who has undergone major house renovations, you might look at details afterwards and think that some of it should be corrected: I have never had this thought…everything was done to our liking, the finishing was impeccable.Working with Zack, Jesse, Bradley, Dylan and Robin on this project was an absolute pleasure. We also worked with Studio Crevier throughout the project on the kitchen design and both companies worked seamlessly/beautifully together. MTL Contractors worked diligently at meeting deadlines, and made sure that the schedule for subcontractors was also well planned. They have such an incredible team spirit and an excellent relationship with their subcontractors. It was very apparent at how much they were passionate about their work. It really felt as if we were working as a team, they provided key recommendations based on their vast experience, communicated quickly on unexpected issues (with recommended solutions), worked as closely as possible within the initial budget, and were more than happy to make any adjustments based on requests. The quality of their work was impressive and I’m looking forward to working with them again.

This team has a great attention to details, and really listened to what we wanted. I was looking for a general contractor to do some work, and unfortunately it was not in the scope that MTL Contractors usually does. However, their team was incredibly helpful in pointing me in the direction of some other contractors and resources who could help me with my projects.
