Very nice owner and i did get a refund. He may have ruined a very comfortable pair of leather shoes that simply needed a good cleaning. Hoping the leather is not burnt by the chemicals he used but does look like the leather is cracked and very dry. In any case. Be aware.

They replaced the soles on an older pair of leather snowboard boots for me. Super fast turnaround, decent price and good work.

I have been coming to Joe’s for a long time. This place is the best I have found in Ottawa. Joe is always very professional, courteous, honest & very reasonably priced.I refuse to go anywhere else.Whether he’s repairing my heels to repairing zippers on my bags to repair of any clothing…Joe’s shoe repair is Bar None! I promise, you won’t be disappointed with his work. I always walk away extremely pleased with whatever item(s) I bring him to repair for me. & for that I will remain a loyal customer of Joe’s for as long as he’s here. Charged 40$ to clean my suede heels - they did have a big spot on the back of one of them, but didn't expect to receive them with a new water stain, and the other heel to still be dirty.You can see where the scratch marks are left behind from using a sharp tool - that's something that will be expensive to fix somewhere else.

Joe did a wonderful job repairing my pair of boots (both the inner and exterior soles), they looked brand new when I picked them up.

A pair of what we thought were good quality winter boots ended up with a large split in a toe seam after little more than a year of wear (I can confirm that my wife does not wear her winter boots in spring, summer, or fall - essentially a few months of winter). The boots had not been cheap, and she'd found them comfortable, up to the point where snow started getting in through the hole. She was frustrated with the product failure, and contemplating buying a new pair with another winter approaching.We considered returning the boots to the point of purchase, but the prospect of trying to get a refund and needing boots in the meantime just made the whole idea not worth exploring. I'd seen Joe's Shoe repair several times and suggested bringing the boots in to see what they might be able to do. Plus we were in the middle of a pandemic, and I don't get a chance to meet a lot of new people.When I went in, Joe was very friendly and helpful in proposing different options. We agreed on what seemed to be the most viable solution. Two days and some 20 some dollars later, we had a pair of winter boots that will likely last for many seasons to come. Well, one of the boots will at least. We'll know what to do if the other one breaks too. Thanks Joe!

Joe provides great service at a fair price. He's sharpened skates, cut keys, re-heeled dress shoes, cleaned expensive leather boots stained with oil and much much more. Seems like he can do anything. We are lucky to have this cobbler in our area!

Good cobblers are hard to find but Joe is my new absolute favorite. He managed to turn my ancient 100year old (almost shredded) dress shoes and made them look like they were brand new. Stop buying replacements and fix what you have to save the planet. Also if you're looking for insoles get the right ones, have Joe find you the right ones and save yourself guessing and money. 10/10 will go again and this is now my default cobbler and leather worker.

Quick and easy service! Joe was very professional, fixed the broken zipper on one of the boots. Spent about 5 mins there and was out walking with the issue fixed!

I took two things to be repaired by Joe. Unfortunately both times he did poor craftsmanship on both.First was for my Naot sandals were the inside leather was worn causing chaffing. I thought he was going to glue new leather, make it look like what it did before. Instead he stitched the over my sandals, and did not tell me . And the stitches got loose after a few weeks...had to bring it backThe second were my favorite leather sandals. The rubber on the bottom was coming undone. Mostly leather sandal FYI. He replaced, cut off, all the leather and replaced with rubber sole. That sole is now cracked, peeling off, after less than a month of real usage.Terrible service. Avoid at all costs.
