Swiss Hotel

Really enjoyed our stay at Swiss Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. You really can’t beat the location! Very close to everything and in a nice neighbourhood. Staff were so friendly and available. What a gem!

Very rude customer service a receptionist decided to scream at me over the phone. Stay at another hotel, there are so many better ones. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Nice unique place, friendly staff. Bed was too soft for my liking. Major problem is location, not the hotels fault But it has a major impact on your trip. It is right in the middle of Ottawa's major un housed and IV drug problem. On first walk to market, saw people shooting up three different times, and tens of people passed out on the street. Uber back to be safe, left the next morning after a sleepless night listening to them yell at each other, even though we paid for two more days.

I didn’t get to stay in the hotel. I had great references from my husband who stayed there and my son on a previous ocassion. I tried changing my reservation due to my flight being cancelled. Initially I got a very helpful man who said he was glad to help. Then I called back to confirm and I got the rudest person on the phone who shouted that they were not going to change or cancel my reservation in any way. I have never, never in my life been treated this way by a hotel employee. Her name is Jessica Stewart. It is a pity that a hotel is managed by someone like that with absolutely no manners. My husband was appalled when he heard because he had a very nice time when he went!

AN AMAZING STAY!We stayed at this hotel in June 2023 for 4 nights and we absolutely loved it! The front desk ladies were SO amazing and nice. Always there if you needed anything and very accommodating. The hotel being 19+ was also great. The hotel has a lot of life to it and history. The colors are vibrant and the place is full of light!The front desk is at the lower level but it was no issue at all.We stayed in the standard Queen room and the room was a perfect little size for 2. A great full length mirror, coffee machine, wine glass, ice bucket, new towels, comfy bed, closet, bedrobe, TV, clock, charging station to plug in your electronics (also had a USB input), etc. My boyfriend of 6ft did find the shower a little snug compared to a bath shower, but if that is the case, I'd suggest to get the Super Queen room as the shower is bigger. The room clean up was also great. The cleaners would always say hello to us if they saw us, which I enjoyed.There's a wonderful terrace outside where you can hang out anytime between 8am-10pm with a bunch of live plants and seating. We hung out there every morning and loved it. You can also bring out your adult drinks as it's a 19+ hotel.A big hit for me was the security to enter the building. You can only go in by scanning your room key (through two separate and different doors) but they do have a telecom as well for when you first arrive!The hotel is also close to the main Ottawa mall, Parliament Hill, multiple restaurants, shops, convenience store, tattoo/piecing shops, and the ByWard Market! Everything was no further than a 8 minute walk. The closest bus stop is a >2 minute walk down the street. Being able to be in close proximity to everything was great as we flew in and didn't have a car to get around.If I'm ever back in Ottawa I will definitely be staying here again!Things to remark: it's an older building so there is no elevator. There is also only mini fridges in the Deluxe" rooms

Lovely hotel in a good location. Rooms are small but well equipped, very clean, and surprisingly quiet. The only slightly awkward thing is that it doesn't have a front lobby that you can just walk into, so you'll have to wait to get buzzed in. The reception is in the basement, down a narrow set of stairs, so perhaps not the most accessible.

Wow I was impressed on many levels upon arriving to the Swiss Hotel. We stayed in the Deluxe King with Fireplace that had the huge soaker tub perfect for couples.We were warmly welcomed by the hotel owner Sabina who clearly has a passion for hospitality and design. Her cheerful greeting and passion made our experience extra special.I chose the Swiss hotel because I wanted a unique non-franchise experience" and that's what we got! A small business owner who's dream it was to buy and operate what truly feels like a luxurious home. Horrible service. Horrible coffee in the room with a broken coffee machine. The bathtub had dirt in it. They had 4 parking spaces that you had to pay for and we're all taken!They didn't leave a couple pieces of Swiss chocolate in the room like they usually do. Very rude host. We booked from Expedia and there was nothing in the website that mentioned that there was no parking or that we couldn't bring a child. She said because we don't read". Extremely rude. We went back and confirmed that it just wasn't there."
