Sugar Marmalade (Markham East) 糖记甜品

Definitely not for families. If you dine in they are giving plastic utensils and you get a single fork for your entree. Tables fit 4 max, so the one we were at was pretty tight for 5 adults and 2 kids. Mains were small but filling, tasty, although nothing to write about. Desserts were great though since that's what they're known for. But the black pearl" dessert isn't actual tapioca

Love that they are finally in Markham east! So excited. They have a lot of modern Asian desserts and super delicious. When I went I ordered the mango pancake, chocolate egg waffle with Oreo and the golden Macau pudding. Everything was done nicely and takeout presentation was great. First time having the golden Macau pudding and it was super creamy and thick. But balanced off nicely with lotus cookie crumbs. Place is clean and service was great! On my visit, it was currently cash and no banks in the plaza yet. So just be ready for that!

Ordered takeout from this location and the quality of the desserts is significantly worse than that of the other Sugar Marmalade locations. Fruits were a combination of almost rotten or not ripe enough to serve and the mochi and sago were rock hard. The “food” is barely of passing edible quality. Avoid at all costs.

First time there. Knowing there's daily special dessert starting at 5 PM, so wanna try it. By the time we got there, we saw a note on the entrance that the special was sold out. We decided to try out other dishes. When we entered the store, we were told, very politely, that the special was sold out. Very nice greeting.Ordered a few items. Not bad though I think some of the simple items are pricey.It's a good try.Very friendly and polite, the server. Thank you!

It's unfortunate that this particular location is terrible. When I ordered the glutinous rice dessert last time, it was sour. We told the waitress and she apologized, but didn't even take that item off the bill. The food is not fresh. They are not busy there, so it could be that things are sitting out for days. if you are to go to Sugar Marmalade, I would go to the one at First Markham Place. They always have a wider selection there and things are fresh.

The mango and sago/rice desserts were acceptable, but the egg waffles were very underwhelming especially for $13+ , also the plastic cutlery for dine-in customers is ridiculous, you might as well use paper plates too lol.

I'm not sure what this dessert is called but each square has a few pieces of fruit (maybe one or 2 pieces, 3 if they're generous) filled with whipping cream. It tasted bland. The best part of the dessert was the ice cream. Our dessert including the watermelon drink cost $24!!! Ridiculous. This pancake dish was so small it could fit into the palm of your hand. A complete ripoff and not worth it.My mom also got food poisoning and is vomiting.Eat here at your own risk.Tbh I don't think they will survive but prove me wrong!

Had high expectations of them since the one located at FMP was so good. Went there for brunch recently and the food there was underwhelming. Beautiful decors and the place was clean... however, my appetite was ruined when I heard the staff nuking our entrées in the microwave. The thought of reheating leftovers killed it. I was hoping my food would be freshly prepared... and not just microwaved by the same staff that served us and handled cash for others. When the food arrived, I was too hungry to care for how it was prepared. The Satay beef on rice was okay - the beef was decent, but the sauce wasn't heated evenly and the marinated egg tasted a bit off. The 3-Cup chicken on rice was alright. I wouldn't recommend the hot food... perhaps the desserts would fair better.

Been here twice, once for takeout and most recently on the Friday of March Break and both times were good experiences. For takeout, you can order online in advance & our order was ready when we got there. Pro tip: 10% off with cash payment for takeout only. Our dine in experience was nice since there was no wait to get a table (possibly because families went away for March Break since it was also a Friday for takeout & it was really busy in there). We scanned a QR code to see the menu & placed our order. Our dessert was made & brought to us quickly. My black jelly and durian in coconut milk was delicious! Lots of durian in there for the size of the dessert. Our server was very kind & friendly. Would definitely come back again!
