Such a wonderful place, you can tell they really care about finding the right home for each animal. I wish I could say I got my last cat here, but we found him at another rescue. Still I only wish I could afford to support them more.

I called in about an animal that was in distress and possibly injured from an over six foot fall from and window. The poor thing was left without food, water or shelter from the rain. NOTHING was done for the animal. This dog is regularly left outside without water, food or shelter for hours on end no matter the weather.

I have been volunteering at this location for approx 4yrs. now.I'm working with kittens. We weigh them daily so we can tract wheather they're gaining or loosing weight. Fill their soft food dish, they love their soft food. Then we get to do the best volunteer job ever, we get to cuddle the kittens, ahhhhhhIf you're looking for something that's fulfilling, and you have some hours that are just lying around needing something to do.Take yourself on down to your pet protection society. There are so many things that a person can do to help out. Most Humane Societies exist on donations and volunteers. We don't get any funding from any government organizations. So volunteers are a major part of the backbone for these organizations. So if you can help in anyway, I can tell you that any help given is muchly appreciated.

I highly recommend CAHS as a facility with great staff, its very clean, the animals are very well kept and you can tell they really do take their time to ensure that the animals they re-home are going to the most ideal home. We adopted a new dog from here and were very pleased with the process. We live in Calgary and have another dog so we did have to do more than one visit, but it was certainly worth it. You can tell they spent a handful of time working with our new dog prior to his adoption, he is so well mannered. A great place to find a new forever friend!

Great place to volunteer and gain animal experience/knowledge. Also just a great place to visit and learn a little bit about while you're there.

Recently adopted a kitten here. Liked the control of how many people can see the animals. Last cat I adopted from a different rescue shelter lasted 3 days and developed pneumonia.
