Algonquin's Edge Resort
Enjoyed our lovely stay here. It was quiet and beautiful, perfect for our needs. The river is spectacular, we took a canoe out to Moore's Falls, it was an unforgettable experience. The cottage was clean and stocked, we were without towels, but we always bring our own towels and sheets, so it was no problem for us. The owners son was extremely helpful. We are eager to visit again and would definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Stayed there a few years ago. Nice small place (not many people) with privacy. we found it very quiet. Right on the water - and the water runs into bark lake so it's clean, lots of areas for boating, fishing is great.

We enjoyed a lovely week here with our dogs! Stunning views with short drives to Barry's Bay and Algonquin Park for day trips. There were plenty of canoes and kayaks to use to explore the Madawaska River as well as a private dock for each cabin equipped with BBQs and firepits! We fell in love with this area and will definitely be back again!

Spent the last weekend in July in the house cottage. Cottage as well as whole resort is very clean and well maintained! The views are beautiful! We go up to Algonquin every year but having a 4 month old we decided to get a cottage instead of tenting and will definitely be back! Nothing bad to say about this place! And to the people complaining about WiFi, your missing the whole point of being up north! Put down the phones and enjoy the surroundings!

We recently stayed at Algonquin’s Edge and had high hopes for the resort based on the photos posted on the website. The area is beautiful, there is a breathtaking waterfall nearby and the lake is clean with gorgeous views.Watercraft is provided and is in great shape.Dry firewood is plentiful and free. The owner & his family are friendly and helpful. The cottage itself is where we had the problem.Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our cottage. Our first impression was that the cottage had fallen into some disrepair over the last couple of years. The steps up to our front porch were broken & rotten through. There was a cement step up so we used that and had to constantly remind our kids to do the same. When we entered the cottage, it seemed pleasant and we were assured that it was “very clean”. As I was putting things away, I noticed that the glass top on the stove was broken with a long sharp glass edge protruding along the side. Some of the dishes in the were dirty from previous use (specifically forks and a white oval platter that was covered in a yellow sticky/greasy substance). The dishes were plentiful but well used. I entered the room with bunk beds and opened the blinds for light. The slats on the blinds were FILTHY- I tried to wipe them down as my son suffers severe allergies and asthma but they had not been cleaned in so long that they wouldn’t dust off with paper towel. The fan was broken and FILTHY.The room smelled overwhelmingly like mould although I could not find a source i did find mouldy cherry tomatoes under the bed.I attempted to use the 5-drawer wooden dresser and discovered that 3 of 5 knobs were missing, and that only one drawer opened, however the drawer was broken and wouldn’t shut. No big deal- I left my son’s clothes folded ontop and proceeded to put my daughter’s clothing in our dresser. I filled the drawers with our clothing, but when I got to the bottom drawer, I discovered several pairs of a previous occupant’s used men’s underwear. I shut the drawer and did not use it. The pillow on my son’s bed was a feather pillow, and due to asthma, I opted to switch it out with the extra pillows provided. These pillows had large yellow/brown stains on them and were unable to be used. Likewise, our bed had only 2 coverlets on it no comforter or duvet and one night when the temperature dropped to 9/10 degrees we were freezing and had no additional blankets. The smart TV was difficult to operate and there were no instructions given. After some back and forth exchange via text with the owner, he sent his nephew down to try to help. Between the two of us, we managed to get it working. The television in another cottage did not operate at all because it required an update that would not work. Luckily, those occupants had brought along their own fire stick. As it rained for 1.5 days of our trip, we did require use of the tv. Upon sitting on the living room’s futon, I discovered the back was broken and it was very uncomfortable. We were also unable to pull it out to use as a bed. While we were trying to determine what was wrong with it, we found Kleenexes and garbage from a previous occupant under the futon. The owner did send his nephew down to repair it, however at that point I said not to bother and that I just wanted them to be aware that the damage was present prior to our arrival. On the last night, while retrieving something from our car, I took quite a bad fall down the cement porch step. The porch light was also broken and we had to use flashlights outside of the cabin- a concern considering that we were in bear country. There is a rock at the base of the cement step and I twisted my ankle and fell when descending the step. My flashlight wasn’t enough to outline the rock and I lost my footing. There was also an incident where someone from the owner’s family was out mowing the lawn in his underwear, with our kids in full view. The cottage has great potential but needs immediate improvements.

I've been going to cottages every single year for at least 16 years. Algonquin edge resort has been the most serene, magical absolute most stunning place ever. The cottage was so clean and private even though they have quite a few cottages and cabins there. The owners Tim and Michelle were one of the best people I've ever met in my life, amazing people. The sky at night was a sparkly sheet of billions of stars, and during the day you can take a canoe to a waterfall (45 mins to get there) but so worth it. The lake was so clean and clear you can drink the water. Just an absolute perfect place and the best time there. Pictures don't do this place justice.

Great, quiet resort. Perfect for a family trip to the area. The cottage was so clean which was very important to us. There was also so much to do: canoeing, kayaking, swimming, day trips to Algonquin Park and Barry's Bay. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back.

Awesome family vacation spot! Family and I visited this October for a wedding nearby and had the best experience. Owners are friendly, flexible, and very helpful. We stayed at the smallest trailer; very clean, spacious and the kids looooved the bunk beds. Highly recommend.
