I've had tremendous results from the program the doctors at the Wallker's Line clinic put me on. I started in November 2019 at 201 lbs, diabetic and had lost 20 lbs by the time the pandemic hit in March 2020. It was tough keeping on track during the stay at home order and I gained it all back but have now seen a further drop to 173 and I'm thrilled. My glucose reading had been 7.4 at the highest point and my most recent result ( April 2022) is 4.9! I'm out of the diabetic range! The clinic provides sound and doable advice with a good suggestions with the nutrition expert and doctors during each monthly phone call.I live in Kitchener and before Covid hit I was excited to drive to the Walker's Line Burlington Clinic as I couldn't wait to record my results.I'd certainly recommend the Wharton Clinic to anyone who is struggling with their weight related health conditions as I was. The clinic offers great encouragement and support.

I started my journey with the Wharton Clinic back in November 2021. Due to Covid restrictions I never had an in-person visit, but the meetings I had over the phone and video conference were always timely, professional and extremely helpful to me and my progress. After 14 months on the program I am down 80lbs and 4 sizes. I do have a few pounds to go but I couldn’t be happier with my successes so far. With the weight loss I have been able to stop taking blood pressure medication, I am more active physically which is helping with my arthritis in my knees. I went from barely able to walk for more than a few minutes at a time to swimming for an hour 5 times a week! I’m thrilled beyond words with my new life that The Wharton Clinic has helped me achieve. Thank you to everyone at the clinic that has helped me on my journey to better health and a more fulfilling life, I couldn’t have gotten here without you. Thank you!

The phone is ALWAYS direct to vmm. Pathetic services for patients. Is there a way to file a complaint?

The admin staff was the only good interaction with this clinic. It’s unfortunate this clinic is covered by OHIP when their patient education consists of links that anyone can easily find online. The most ludicrous recommendation was to try Noom. Hmmmmm isn’t that what this clinic is paid to do? Unless you want to lose your weight with drugs and surgery (short term solution) I would not recommend this place at all. The Dr was borderline rude. This is an abuse of OHIP and should be reported.

After getting a referral, waiting 6 months to get in I was finally happy to be in this program. After the Dr immedidately perscribed Ozempic, I began to lose. Had a few visits where all they did was update my progress and the Dr checks to make sure you are losing and handling the side effects. Suddenly, without warning, I'm told they are referring me back to the Dr. Basically kicking me out of the program. And I'm not the only one.I've only lost 17 of the 90 pounds I need to lose. No counselling. Just kicked back to my GP. My real concern is they've put me on a medication and now I'm without support or monitoring. To put it back on the GP. Not happy.

I had my first visit today over the phone after waiting 6 months. The staff and the doctor were very nice and gave me lots of nutritional information that doesn’t feel like a fad diet. I felt very comfortable talking to them and they listened to everything I said. I was prescribed medication injections that are covered under my work insurance. Ignore the bad reviews this team is very friendly and is non judgmental. I have 60 pounds to lose and it’s all up to me to do the work with these proper resources. I am excited for this journey and working with this clinic!

This clinic has not helped me. I’m heavier than I was at my referral over a year ago, after several appointments have received no diet plan, no exercise regiment, and attempting to speak to someone, anyone, about concerns with the clinics lack of intervention and patient care will apparently result in mind games and verbal beratement from staff, and threats to discharge me and cancel my appointments if I contact the CPSO about the behaviour of clinic staff.

The Wharton Clinic has changed my life! Everything has been done professionally and with kindness and respect. I required additional testing and procedures prior to surgery to make sure I was in the best possible health for gastric bypass. Recovery went smoothly with constant support from doctors, nurses, nutritionists, etc. I am now 6mths post op and can happily say how awesome it is to walk without losing breath. I can sit on the floor with my grandchildren and have energy to play. My feet fit into shoes! So many great things keep happening as I lose roughly 2lbs per week. In 6mths I've lost 75lbs.! And my children, who begged meto do this, will have their Mom longer and with lower risks of health issues. I am so grateful to Dr Wharton, his team, Dr. Yellin my family doctor and so many people who continue to support this process through The Wharton Clinic.

I think the Wharton MedicalClinic is doing amazing work. They had great tips and were really helpful while I was on my weight loss journey. I have done all of the programs that were out there. This one works. I lost 85 pounds. It has completely changed my life for the better.

In 2019 I joined the Wharton medical clinic to try to lose weight that had crept on over the years. I tried for 6 months but was unsuccessful. I had challenging stressors that led to complicated symptoms and one of which was weight gain. So, I gave up.A few months later, Dr. Tsang called me out of the blue, asking why I had quit trying to lose weight and offering help to get me back on track. I began monthly phone sessions with her where I learned strategies to help me slowly lose weight…and this time, I lost 45 pounds. Now, I have no knee pain whatsoever and there is a spring in my step. My Wharton visits have been reduced to every 3 months and I do my sessions over the phone. Currently, my goals are to increase my exercise and introduce some weight bearing activity….however, I’m so comfortable in my own skin now, that I have no need to focus on what is next.Losing weight is the hardest thing that I have ever done, but if it weren’t for Dr. Tsang, I would have never made it where I am today. I have developed lifelong strategies and they are incorporated into my daily life.My advice:Talk to your Wharton doctor often and have your questions ready – It kept my priorities and good weight loss strategies on my mindTake your medications on time and faithfully – they helpUse an app to count your calories, and focus less on the exact calculations and more on act of tracking each day – I learned so much about my eating habits, and about the quality of my food choices in this wayRead your labels and choose foods with few ingredients – the more clean your food choices, the betterMake your strategies fit your life – I only allowed myself to experience a little change at a time (e.g., exercise, deprivation… ) but I made sure that the changes were consistent, every day, foreverThere is no such thing as failure…just a little rewarding – I found this attitude was so incredibly important because it made me focus on the positive, instead of beat myself up over the negativeI’ve kept my 45 pounds off for 4 months now and if I happen not to lose any more weight, I will be satisfied because I feel so good. Thank you so much, Dr. Tsang and all those lovely people at the Wharton clinic.
