Centra Food Market

Loved, loved, loved my experiences here. The produce department is kept fresh, the area clean, and interesting. When I say interesting I mean they have fruit that you don't see you normal grocery stores you'll just have to go and see for yourself. The mangelo oranges are large and juicy, as well as the apples, the raspberries we're on sale 2 for $5 when I was there last week. The bananas add real flavour to them unlike other grocery stores with either tastes like nothing or straw. The fresh seafood here was a delight to see oh, they also have a hot steam table of take-home Foods so you don't have to worry about cooking dinner the evening you go shopping. Centra also has their own homemade prepackaged meals for take home as well which I pick up they're very tasty and last for two or three meals each. Wednesday seems to be the day to shop.

Went there at 8:30 and all the fresh produce was being covered or taken to the back.That shouldn’t happen when the closing time is 8:50. People should be able to buy what they need till the last moment, other wise what’s the point.

Such a cool store with loads of variety. I bought a pair of white/pink striped slippers there as well. Love them and need a new pair, I wonder if they still have them.

Most days my experience at Centra is good. They have nice produce and a good supply of ethnic foods. But today, I encountered very poor service from the cashier at the front of the grocery, nearest the exit. She expected me to pay full price for a cell pack of two seedlings that had only one seedling. When I refused to pay, and reasoned that I should only pay half price, she just said that that's the store's policy and that I either return later or pay the full price. Not only was she rude about this, but also the security guard, who was previously chatting with her, behaved like he was a manager in the store. He said that I would not be allowed to buy any seedlings because I resisted paying full price for half a cell. He, together with the cashier, provided a very unprofessional face for Centra Barrie, which I patronize on a weekly basis. This was a very disappointing experience. I hope Management takes notice of such untoward behaviour and encourages all their employees, including the security guards" to be polite and professional towards clients."

For first time visit, Sunday May 20, 2018. Open in Spring, 2018, the 36,000 square foot Centra Food Market in the former Winners location at Bayfield Mall on Bayfield St. in Barrie. This is a multi-ethnic fresh grocery store (the 3rd one now in Ontario) that features quality produce and goods sourced from around the world, with emphasis on Asian food stuffs. I was able to find all of my favourite foods / spices / sauces, which are often hard to come by in other grocery stores. Very decent prices on produce. I had not tried the ready-to-eat Deli, but the food did smell amazing. Looking forward to shopping again.

Oh I love this place. Their produce is to die for. They also have a great selection of sauces and cooking ingredients.I do not recommend buying products you'd find in a regular store here (like ketchup or other American products), as they're more expensive. But definitely worth going here for the produce and sauces alone! They also have really great selections of meat and fish. We love their baked goods and their prepared food counter is delicious!

I LOVE this grocery store. The freshness and variety of produce, fruits and meat cuts is amazing. The prices are reasonable. I love all the frozen items they offer as well as the butcher's counter. The store is also very clean and neat. The only down side was they don't offer a washroom on the premises and you have to leave the store in order to enter washroom located in the mall next door.

Centra Food Market sells food ingredients for each country. It also has fruits, food ingredients, and snacks from various countries. It also has a meat section and a seafood section. You can get Korean food ingredients that are hard to get in Canada. Although the supply and demand of ingredients is not smooth, it is a good market where you can purchase various food ingredients

I should've been coming here years ago. Excellent produce and seafood section. Been enjoying the boneless ribeyes also.So many good things you just can't get anywhere else. Great prices for the produce. I'll definitely be coming here every week from here on out.

I love Centra. You can get fruits and vegetables at a discounted price. There's a lot of unique fish and meat to try. You can get Chinese food made on site. But they close very early I think it's 7pm. And to be honest the prices are a little high for what you get. The sushi is fabulous sometimes you can even get that at a discounted price.
