I should have left this review sooner, but after having such a smooth and pleasant experience filing my taxes with a different company, I want to warn others about this location.My partner and I had been filing at this location for over 6 years, as well as his family. This year however, none of us returned and we never will. Our 2021 taxes were filed incorrectly and because of it, I owed the CRA hundreds of dollars in interest.After calling this location they admitted to their mistake and admitted that peace of mind protection was never offered to us and the least they said they would do was give us a refund for their services. They were supposed to call us back a week later and never did, they don’t return our phone calls and refuse to acknowledge that it ever happened. I’ve never been more disappointed by a business, especially one that we are supposed to trust with our taxes, and have trusted for a long time. My partner and I, as well as his family won’t make the same mistake again.** Please do not respond by saying a district manager will contact me because it won’t happen and you guys are blatantly lying to your customers.

Awesome service and really good price best tax filing service in downtown but be careful who is doing your tax. not everyone can do it properly and explain everything to you.

I dealt with Julie! Great agent who dealt with several years of my taxes. She was able to maxamize my return. Great job Julie. I highly recommend Julie @ the 40 King St office in Oshawa, On.

Everyone here especially Liz was extremely knowledgeable, polite and helpful. Good women doing good honest business.

Not sure why one star too. I missed out on first payment of climate action incentive. I got notices in my online account from CRA asking me to submit this information. So I called around 4 to 5 different branches of H&R block (this being one of them) and they all told me that I am not eligible for Climate action incentive payment in 2022 since I wasn't in Canada in Jan 2021 and to ignore CRA notices. Despite this I went ahead with giving information to CRA as the agent from CRA said I am eligible and so I am getting first payment in Aug 2022. I was even asked to ignore CRA agent, that they dont know stuff. They are not aware of basic tax situations. Not sure what I am paying them money for if I am supposed to do the job and they give false information.

they lied to me about getting and instant cheque back. even tho I told them I had a business they still said that I would get an instant refund. then after everything was done I was told that I won't get an instant refund and that I needed to pay them $400!!!! these guys are nothing but lying thieves.

Simple to drop off tax forms, and payment is easy as well. Very organized! Office was clean staff was friendly. Michael at the front especially was terrific! Very polite and friendly and made picking up and dropping off my tax forms very easy. Would recommend!

This place is ABSOLUTE TERRIBLE. It took them over a year to complete my taxes because of mistakes they were making. My file had been transferred to this office after a representative from a Whitby location made a mistake. When my taxes were finally completed they charged me over $300.00 and I was SO turned off. I spoke to one particular representative Judy who was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. When I asked her if she could provide me a status update on my file she replied I'm in the back right now and your files and the front and I'm actually too tired to walk all the way up there." I was beside myself at her lack of professionalism and blatant disregard for my concerns. This issue affected my HST and trillium for the year. They offered to give me a discount on my taxes the following year but I will NEVER use h&r block again."

Absolutely horrible! We got this woman Judith who openly admitted that she did not know what she was doing and made us leave all of our receipts there so she could get someone to check her work. (Instead of directing us to someone who could actually help us) While in the office, I actually had to look up information on the CRA website to prove to her that one of our expenses was, in fact, deductible.We came in five days before the deadline, which she missed, and finally got to sign for the return 11 days after we came in. During this time she avoided retuning our multiple calls and emails. However, we were able to speak with her a few times over this period, where she informed us that she either: had some questions (which we promptly answered), didn't have a chance to get to it yet, was busy working on other clients returns, and was waiting for another accountant to check over her work. (So all this time we had been waiting she was working on clients that came in after us and basically put us to the bottom of the pile.)She was not in the office when we came into sign and the woman who presented us our documents still had a few things to finish on her end of the paper work. We had to pay full price of $444 for this fiasco. We still do not have our refund yet and I am not confident in what was filed. We will definitely be getting a second opinion.You are better off doing your own taxes at home, at least you have control over getting them in on time.

Absolutely disgusting service. I had a gentleman tell me MULTIPLE times in person and on the phone that my taxes would be delivered to the CRA same day of filing. I found out later that evening that this was not the case, and they directed me to the district manager for the fact that he lied to my face. The district manager then told me he denied lying, and basically told me I was out luck because he was a “master tax associate”. Apparently he’s also a lying, cowardly weaselUpdate: they replied saying a district manager would contact me, they never did as it was the distract manager who was so horrible with me. Don’t believe their BS
