Island hot pot
Wanted to try this place only to find a note the door saying back at 1230. Not sure why you don't have more employees but ok. I waited 15min and then some girl changed the note to back at 2pm. Wasted my time so 1 star it is.

Thrilled!!!!Repost from our 1st visit.A little Covid hiccup, glad to see we can resume regular visits.So happy to have found Island Hot Pot, south end of Baltimore, Ontario. Mere minutes north of the 401.While travelling daily from Oshawa on my workday commute, until retiring, made an almost weekly pilgrimage to Dees Catering, in Oshawa.We are looking forward to continuing that tradition here at Island Hot Pot.

This is a great take out place and the food is delicious!!!The message on the answering machine is awful. Sounds like you are a nuisance calling and the female voice is not inviting to new perspective customers. I expected a much more upbeat message.Was kinda taken back the first time I heard.Maybe you cannot leave a message right now, but the voice and tone brings this great business down.

We visited the Peterborough location on Charlotte Street and Oh boy am I happy I came here. The food was so good, full of flavour, nice pieces of chicken, the jerk, BBQ and curry chicken, and samosas are all amazing. The wife loved it as well. Will definitely be returning anytime I get a craving for jerk. Fantastic customer service, we came at the end of the day and the food was pretty much sold out they had just enough to fill our order, this is a telltale sign this place has an it" factor. Even accidentally called the coburg location

Driven past lots of times, today I stopped I really wanted goat or oxtail but both were sold-out understandable with lockdown plus it was almost 3 pm. I ended up getting curry chicken roti and a Grace Kola Champagne.When I sat back in my truck and opened the box huge stuffed roti and some fried plantan.Now I can eat lots but only manged ¾ of it.Took me back to growing up in Scarborough.Very tasty. Could have been more curry but that's my taste.Try it out you will enjoy it and you will not be hungry.

Outstanding. What an unexpected delight. The last thing I expected was first-rate Caribbean take-out, tucked in beside a gas station in Baltimore, Ontario. For $18 we took home excellent and generous chicken curry on rice; delicious, fragrant spicy oxtail, and beautiful little samosas with a mango dipping sauce (on the house, as it was closing time!). Not sure why there is a three-star review here with no actual information given. We will be back again and again and I will spread the word.

It's hard to find good ox tail. Husband and I have only eaten twice but very impressed both times. The ox tail is so meaty and tender. My hubby gets jerk chicken it is also delicious. Rice and peas are perfect and portions are huge. Just talking about it gives me a craving. Yum yum yum

This place is inconsistent. Sometimes the food is great and sometimes the food is just meh. Today the food was just plain horrible….bad taste, veggies cooked so long they’re wilted and unrecognizable with no flavour left in them, and peppercorns all over the place. The prices went up by $2 but the serving size decreased significantly. And I’m tired of them being out of things all the time like plantain. I'm giving up on them.

4 times I have been to the Colberg location and only open once. They never answer the phone, so can't even call to confirm if they are open or not. The one time I had the food it was very good. But cannot Rely on The restaurant to be open. That's to bad as I am sure they could do well.
