Woodwards Slough
Not yet completed, but I encourage everyone to check it out. It is nice to see this type of place in the process of creation. My feeling is that they might let people discover it and make the paths themselves. It is part of the South Dyke Trail at the southern end of Garden City Road. There is a parking area for a few cars. The trails are pretty fresh. There is a nice patch of old railroad that is overgrown. I hope that after the project is finished, the natural enhancement will clear up the rusty water. The one way trail leads back to the path that takes you to an unnamed park along the Fraser River which leads to you Finn Slough. Before you cross the bridge at the start of the trail, you can go right where you will see a picnic table. Another right will get you on a second trail that connects to what was an access road for when they started the project. This leads to the inner area of the habitat. While we were there there was one eagle perched on a transmission pole and a bunch flying overhead. This is a small wonderful new area and a great addition to the South Dyke Trail.Daniel
