Purchased a Chagall print from Empire Auctions several years ago. Soon thereafter I brought it to Skinner in Boston for an insurance appraisal and they were very confident that the piece was not an authentic signed print as advertised by Empire. I therefore brought it back to Empire and was given a credit note.I’d not been able to use the credit note for several years because I no longer live in Montreal. I just called Empire to enquire if I could use the credit note in an upcoming online auction. To my surprise I was told that it’s no longer valid because the company is not the same Empire (despite the logo etc looking exactly the same and the “previous” owners the Rogo’s still somehow involved in the new company).Very disappointed in the original purchase and their treatment of the pretty substantial credit note

Catastrophique et malhonnête.Je viens pour acheter de l'OR.Le prix à jour sur leur site indique +130$ au dessus du cours ce qui est raisonnable.Le gars sur place arrogant me dit qu'il faut pas se baser sur le site ? WTFFF, ben pourquoi tu affiche ce prix et met à jour tes prix chaque jour ?Résultat +220$ que le cours alors que la concurrence vend à 160$ en villeTu lui dis et il te répond 'ben va là bas...Absolument pas commercial"

Fraudulent bidding process. Been there numerous times and it's always the same old.They have an item for sale. Guy starts the bidding, which goes up while noone is bidding in the room suggesting that he has some bids in his book. Raised my hand at one point then let the hypothetical bidding continue. Still no bid in the room at the upper current level and guy says 'sold'.A few minutes later, other bald guy comes to see me saying he has another item, identical to the one I did bid on and says he can sell it to me now for the lower price.... yeap that's empire auctions at its best.. and let's not talk about the fake antiques which are all over the place. And they are reselling stuff that they own..not like a real auction house.

I bought some really interesting items. Had a great experience overall. Could be a little more high energy but overall good experience. I will be back.

Don't go to Empire Gold! I had a terrible experience with a very rude bald guy. He was ok when doing the eval but then when he noticed I wasn't sure he barely gave me time to think and when I said I had a question he acted like he wasn't interested and went as far as to tell me that he didn't like the way I chew gum! I'm sorry but if this is an example of the type of people that work there or maybe even own the place I say go somewhere else. Disgusting behavior..I will make sure to post on CJAD as well.

Best place in town for antiques, furniture, art, and carpets. We bought our bedroom set, office desk, and dishes from Empire and we're very happy with all our purchases as well as the process.

Je suis partagé dans mon choix d'étoile. J'aurai pu mettre un 3 étoiles comme un 5 étoiles. Ils ont de beaux articles à vendre. J'ai fait de très bon achat. Cependant, à plusieurs reprises ils annonces que l'article est une antiquité, mais il se peu que se soit une reproduction ou que l'antiquité est été modifié. Je conseil fortement de vérifier l'article sur lequel vous voulez misez avant de l'acheter. N'ayez pas peur de vous coucher par terre pour vérifier l'exactitude de l'article
