Greenwood Park
Take a detour off of the paved path of the Green Necklace and you won't be disappointed. Meander through the gravel trails and be engulfed in bouquets of birdsong and tall, evergreen trees. Gentle hills, and you can easily hike up to the top of the old quarry. Pity that you can't completely escape the motoring sounds of the highway, but it reminds us that we need to work hard to preserve green spaces like these even as cities grow.

A nice park in the suburbs. The highway noise is noticable, but it is a good place for a walk.

A really nice local secret in this park is the semi-mined out and abandoned quarry that used to be a really cool party spot back in the 70’s/80’s/90’s that frankly I’m surprised people aren’t doing much there anymore. Overall though a lovely selection of slight off-beaten paths and the Green Necklace caressing the edge of the park to the West and the South, nonetheless a fun little adventure awaits you in this local, forested park with history and nature galore! :D

Noisy because of the highway proximity but interesting abandoned quarry. Definitely a party spot, watch out for glass if you bring your four legged friends.

This is a great place to walk the dog or just get away from the hustle and bustle for a while on one of the park's many walking trails. This park offers a beautiful forested landscape at all times of the year. There are trails and paths for all ages and ability levels. Highly recommended.
