The worst possible service I have ever come across! Went to fix my wedding ring there and the owners didn't even bother taking to me in person but kept sending a person from the staff to talk to me and answer my questions on behalf of them. That happened at least 5 times during my visit in the shop which I though it was very poor. I got quoted £25 for the job that needs done and was not allowed to pay immidiately but on collection which I thought that it was fine. When I got a call that my ring was ready and went to collect it, the price suddenly changed to £45 which ended up into an argument. Mind you, no price was written on the customers note, so always be aware with that! After a heated argument, the member of staff agreed to charge me the quoted price and leave it be. When I saw the ring afterwords I was nearly in tears. The colour of it has got changed as it has been burnt all over, it was not soldered all over but just on few places and over all extremely bent. I could have done better job myself if I had a soldering iron at home. Please, please, save your money and time and go somewhere else where it's worth giving your jewellery to be fixed! I will never go back to that place and will never recommend it, which is a shame, considering how much I like supporting local businesses.

After phoning the shop to make sure they could replace my Omega f300 Seamaster's battery whilst I waited, I turned up at their pleasant shop and 15 minutes later I returned to collect it. Great service and reasonable price too.Nigel.

Fantastic little shop, reception and service second to none extremely polite efficient and professional. I Would highly recommend this place to take your clock/s in for repair.I recently took my carriage clock in for repair and they fixed it in record time.

Really amazing service! Josh fixed my watch! Others had made all kinds of excuses .What a fantastic local business with lots of beautiful clocks, including the lovely lady at reception. They are so honest and fixed my watch without fuss very quickly and carefully. A definite must for any watch, clock issues or servicing.

I have always had great service from this business. The lady who served me today gave me good advice about 2 repairs and I am confident I will be happy when I collect them.

The front of house customer service at Antique & Modern is incredibly poor. The receptionist specifically is very rude and bullish with absolutely zero consideration for the customer. A situation that could have easily been resolved with a degree of calm understanding and polite professionalism was turned into a very sour, confrontational experience. Although I don’t fault the physical work they DID carry out, the front of house staff (including the owner) were incredibly belligerent, condescending and unprofessional throughout. It’s such a shame to have to leave a 1 star review on a local business but this was a very unpleasant experience.
