Update on review - 2022Ordered takeout for 6 adults and 3 children, Party Tray B & C.Have to say I myself and all adults were not impressed. The rice was either undercooked or old as some of it was hard and not moist as freshly cooked sushi rice should be.The cuts of Sashimi were mediocre at best, not very thick and not much taste either.Rolls were ok, but slices were thin and most were falling apart due to not be rolled very well.Not sure if they were extremely busy, (which should not matter anyway), but this particular order was under par and not what I would expect from any sushi restaurant.Disappointing.--------------------Reviewed in 2019Sushi I Wood absolutely frequent on a regular basis!I was pleasantly surprised with the Cherry Blossom decor and ambiance which added to my overall experience.The service was fast and very friendly, the waitress always approached and talked to us with a smile.The portions and quality of everything, rolls, special rolls, Nigiri, Sashimi, deep fried dumplings was amazing. Each had a very unique combination and taste. The options of Special rolls was impressive, I look forward to trying different options.The thickness of both the Nigiri and Sashimi was perfect, nice and and thick which IMHO enhancing the flavours of the fish. Other restaurants are sliced to thin, these are great.The overall price is on par with the other restaurants but the quality and quantity is much better and more then the others!I would highly recommend SushiWood to anyone visiting or passing through Fernie as I am already looking forward to going back!Ambiance *****Service *****Portions *****Quality *****Taste *****Overall *****

We've dined here many times, and taken friends and family as well, and they've all been impressed with the quality of the food. The atmosphere is laid back, friendly and casual but still makes for a nice dinner out. No long waits, reasonably priced and quality food.

The restaurant is celiac friendly! If you let them know your allergy they can adjust their rolls to be gluten free. Overall the fish and service was good. Our rice was a bit dry but overall good sushi. Cute interior that would be good for a date. They also have traditional Japanese private rooms for groups. It's Worth checking out.

As soon as we entered, an abundance of cherry blossom decor caught our eye. Really pretty! We enjoyed the Korean bibimbab and the rainbow roll. The beef short ribs were just alright. Overall, we had a great experience. Thank you!

I absolutely love sushi wood me and my family travel through Fernie every summer on our way to our main summer destination and we have sushi wood at least one or both nights we are in Fernie because it is just so good. Good portions and good fish, tempura is also a very good, little-bit pricy, but good quality. The restaurant is also nice too cozy and clean what more do you need right? Parking is also not bad never have had trouble finding a spot.

Friendly stuff, surprisingly fresh and well cut sashimi (very delicious)! If you don’t mind eating at 4pm, that avoids the dinner rush! Although, dinning at 6 or 7 pm wasn’t really long on the wait(just a bit). Vacation there 3 nights, somehow I ate there all 3 nights…

This place has a nice fake pink cherry blossom tree in it. Otherwise, they serve decent sushi, sashimi, tempura, and Korean food. Lots of variety on the menu. It's kinda like an Edo in food vibes but slightly better and a restaurant version of it.

Bool Go Gee contains surprisingly little meat! Rice was also very dry. Crazy Girl was good. Expected better for the price.
