Designer Apparel Services has manufactured my entire fashion line since 2014. They are skilled professionals leading a small workforce of excellent sewers. Their pattern drafter easily interprets and grades my patterns, working closely with me to tweak and refine my designs. The production manager often offers suggestions on sewing finishing so I can achieve a garment’s best look. The sewers work expertly and carefully to make perfect garments, which are always delivered on time! I feel DAS works more with me than for me, and I am grateful to have the support of such a great team.

An awful experience. Their Better Business Bureau review certainly sum it up. I approached the owner for an e-commerce partner initiative to beta test Meta's new mobile-only Shops Ai which was to open up in Canada. I have a Meta-approved marketing agency. We had offered to volunteer our time and labour (creative development, funnel architecture and facilitating ad placement ) in exchange for collaborated exposure in Meta's published e-commerce case study which would be visible worldwide. A huge exposure win-win involved that could have brought enormous visibility for both d.a.s. & my brand. Presenting her with the contract clearly stated the scope and the required technology and that I am not responsible for any delays caused by Meta platform technology. The owner had to pay a fraction of the ad cost, placement, the rental of the required technology and the full funnel, campaign's ad placement cost including Meta's Ai audience modelling for ad targeting. The owner paid a tiny deposit but failed to pay the final invoice. Everything would have been Less than 10% of the industry standard. During the setup, many hurdles appeared within the Meta platform including learning that d.a.s. had a non-Meta-approved website which failed eligibility. They also historically violated Meta's ad terms, conditions, and ad policies and were as a brand banned from performing any further ad placement in the Meta suite of ad products. To salvage the partnership opportunity the only other option to participate was to develop another brand, a Meta-approved commerce website to perform the transactions. We used Shopify on its plain theme as the best option by avoiding any extra ad costs from failed click-throughs caused by slow loading bounces as it was the fastest loading theme for mobile. I also donated my Meta business and ad account to host POS so she can sell her handcrafted fashion masks with transactions all paid into her bank account. We also had to build out a different Facebook page loaded with posts and capture over 150 followers and an Instagram business profile to be approved by Meta with 2 shop FB & IG profiles. It was an unexpected very very time-consuming process performed at no extra charge. As the system was in beta, the technology release date for Canada was stated as 'coming soon this winter.' The founder demonstrated extremely unreasonable, and hysterical behaviour demanding that the ads should be live on black Friday and blaming me that I was too slow meanwhile the Meta Shops Ai technology was not available or running live, yet in Canada! To enable approval for participation, we experienced countless connectivity hurdles which we eventually achieved and were ready weeks before the day the technology opened up in Canada, on the 24 Jan. when we captured our first sale. This brings on another baffling scene. The owner refused to complete the transaction claiming she will not use PayPal and refusing to accept their micro fees when it was clearly defined as required in her signed contract proposal. Not aware that this is a partner project or of I donating the retail space, p.r & ad creative, her demands were bazaar, unreasonable as if I was in debt to her demanding to have ownership of my Agency Meta Ad account and custom design the website for desktop all outside the scope of the project which was beta testing the new 'Ai mobile only' ad campaign. She said that I created good ads but she refused to pay for the running of custom audience-setting ads and artificial intelligence Ai programming for targeting required for running an effective campaign. I was open to negotiations, she refused to entertain any money owed beyond the deposit of $600 unless I transfer my agency ad account + a new website. Who does that? Now over-invested 1000 hours of great work while she claimed that I owed her money for ads. Sadly - We share mutual friends. She went on a mission to shame me, a smear campaign and elaborated to others with false stories to elevate her position. Avoid at all costs.

Over the past year, DAS has exceeded our expectations in manufacturing and garment construction quality. Even more importantly, any technical manufacturing challenge was immediately brought to our attention, addressed, and quickly overcome for smooth manufacturing processes. Above all DAS's pricing is extremely fair. We recommend DAS to all company's looking for local manufacturing and knowledgeable guidance through the process.AKOYA Swimwear
