Therien Jiu-Jitsu & Kickboxing Orleans

I've been training with Ely and his team of professors in BJJ since 2016 and their care for the students both adults and children is amazing. His teaching style makes it easy to learn and the training environment with the other BJJ students makes it addictive. Very supportive team!

3 of my children have been taking classes now for over 4 years. My fourth child started just before he turned four and he now really enjoys it as well. My husband also joined and loves it and I have just recently started the kickboxing class and find it great. The instructors are all excellent and want everyone to feel welcome and capable at all levels. They are patient and do their best to help everyone. They are especially great with the Little Dragons class and the kids have lots of fun!

My kids have been taking jiu jitsu here for over a year, and it has been a really great experience. The instructors are great and passionate about what they do. It helped bring my little ones out of their shell and gain confidence.

My three boys have grown up around Therien Orleans. They take active part in training and assisting. The progress I have seen in them regarding focus, physical development, and discipline is simply outstanding. I am proud of the boys, but equally grateful to be part of the Therien Orleans family. My seven year old boy recently started the children's classes and comes home energized and with a giant smile. Each instructor that has worked him has left a positive impact which in turn has boosted his confidence when talking to adults.As a parent and ex-instructor of the martial arts, I feel comfortable with the atmosphere, enjoy watching the instruction and appreciate the patience it takes each of the teachers to maintain order and make it interesting for children of varying ages.Absolutely recommended.

I transitioned to Therien from another Martial Arts school 4 months ago.It has been the best change I've ever made. It didn't take me more than five minutes in class to learn that the previous school had been falling drastically short in their teachings. Classes are filled with a large number of high ranking martial artists combined with a nice blend of newcomers and early ranked practitioners. It is apparent that my progress in being monitored and that the teachers are genuinely interested in making me the best version of myself. A class act organization top to bottom.

My son and I have been a part of the Orleans Therien Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing since 2010 and a part of the Therien Jiu Jitsu and Gringo BJJ competitive team since 2012.I have been a part of the martial arts community since the late 80's and I have been around dozens of dojos. I can say with true experience, that the level of instruction, commitment to excellence, family atmosphere and overall commitment to producing polite, confident, fit and happy young people is excellent.The owners and instructors of this dojo truly care about you as a person and not a walking bank machine. Your development and health are paramount to them versus your wallet.I highly recommend this dojo for both sexes, all age levels and or experience levels. You won't be disappointed.

I've been a student in a few dojos in Ottawa and this is the best training I've received. The Teachers really take an interest in seeing their students succeed. Training here is good either to get in shape or compete. Our team just went to the Ontario International Open and placed for a medal in every event we competed in. Great School

Therien Orleans was recommended to me form a number of different / trusted martial arts sources when I started looking for a school in our community. I consider myself fortunate that I am able to train there with my children as the school offers a number of disciplines under the tutelage of experienced and seasoned instructors. Great for kids and adults alike, form those looking to get into better shape to those honing their skills in a specific discipline. Two thumbs way up...

Great dojo, great training. I did approx two years of training there after five years of wrestling. The progression in technique was excellent, with a steady build up on new techniques as well as taking the time to perfect old ones for both brazilian and traditional jiu jitsu.The kickboxing classes made you work hard, and the sparring classes were well organized and purposeful. The sparring classes were typically small, which was great because they offered a more personal training experience with plenty of time to fight.There were people with different levels of experience, and all levels were managed really effectively. Being more experienced did not mean that you were wasting your time, and being new did not mean that your learning curve was extremely steep.Definitely recommend for anyone. I took the bus from downtown Ottawa to this location instead of something closer because of the quality.
