It's an experience that certainly is interesting if you've never done it before. You should book ahead of time to reserve a spot and arrive with suitable time to get lined up or lose your place in line (or even your spot). The parking in the ferry is very tight and it makes sense since they get cars and full trucks on there with trailers like Tetris masters. The ride can get a bit bumpy if the waters are right so bring some Gravol just in case. The food on the ship is not great but if you're hungry, it'll do in a pinch. The gift shop has the biggest Labradorite selection I saw during the trip. The ship itself is dated and old but it still works so that's fine by me. It's big and roomy enough that I can get away from the other people who I have to share space with. Pets are required to stay in the vehicles (for obvious reasons) so be sure that it's something they can tolerate.

Labrador side is excellent when checking in for your tickets. Never anything said about being 5 or ten minutes late to the terminal. Newfoundland side on the other hand are ignorant. Have no care for people that traveled 1000km with small children and you get lectured for being 5min late to the terminal. Also on the newfoundland side the crew directing traffic need to have a bit better communication skills. Was waved to come on and board the boat and then must have waved on another vehicle all at the same time, then she starts complaining that I cut them off. Don't direct two vehicles at the same time, problem solved. Come on with a tunnel haha

July 18th, I took the ferry from Blanc-Sablon to St-Barbe. It was pleasant and comfortable. The food at the cafeteria was expensive though. As for the schedule, those who plan to take the ferry from Blanc-Sablon, in the province of Quebec, must have the right to consult the hours of departure in Eastern Time, not Newfoundland-Labrador Time. Come Home"

Not a bad ferry ride that takes you from Newfoundland to Labrador and back again. There is a cafeteria on board that serves fast food. Not bad. The service is fairly efficient, since the ride is only 1.5 hours.

We got stranded on the Labrador side on August 21st when the ferry broke down on the Newfoundland side. We and many other people had to scramble to find hotels and cancel other reservations. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is that this morning, the ticket agents went in a logical sequence to accommodate the people who got screwed yesterday, and we got on the next crossing, only 21.5 hours behind schedule. The lesson I learned is to book reservations far in advance -- that's how we got a good spot in the line.

Very good service. But watch the time change and the boat leaves on New Foundland time, even though it leaves from Quebec. The fine print states this, but it surely should be immediately next to the sailing time.!

Well organized for loading/unloading. Staff are pleasant to talk to and are very helpful. Charge your cell prior to the sail as this vessel was built in Europe and don't have accessible western electrical outlets. Just the 208V. Cell signal is good all across. There is a mini cafeteria onboard and a pop machine.

Aug 2021. COVID numbers are very low. The upper decks /outdoors area of the ship was closed due to public safety" whatever that means. We were all stuck inside. Ruins the crossing."

Ferries okay but poor Web site made booking passage online an exercise in frustration. Helpline did their best to make arrangements. Ticket staff at the ports were very helpful. In particular the ticket lady at Blanc Sablon who let me know there might be an extra ferry run and whose husband took my wife from the hotel to the airport. Her actions saved me at least a day of travel if not more.

Great crew, excellent food and very clean. Rough crossing but only mother nature can be blamed for that one.
