Surplus Furniture and Mattress Warehouse

It takes a lot to make me upset with services but the fact that i m taking the time to come write a review is because the service was really badI want to start off by saying that the sales rep Carlos was absolutely great !1.But the manager of the store, told us we would have our purchases before the 24th and gave us his word (quick tip ,if they promise you something please ask for it in writing that way you will protect yourself) but the mattresses were not there at the promised time2. I was driving the box spring as they had tied it on my car when it was ready (I was driving 30-40km/hr) and the box flew in the air , thankfully i was not on the highway but that was scary! It could have caused an accidentAll the above were bad but i was thinking they will apologize and compensate us for the inconvenience so maybe that would have helpedBig surprise, the manager told us we would NOT have the mattresses before the 24th and said he would give us available cheaper ones and just refund us the difference, no DISCOUNT or anything for the INCONVENIENCEAs for the box spring incident , As compensation,they gave us mattress protectors , which we don’t really needThe fact that the manager didn’t apologize for the inconvenience and I didn’t feel heard when I expressed my concerns!!! Was what made me come on here to write about thisOverall the service was bad , i don’t think i will go back there. If you go be careful and get everything in writing before making the purchase

Literally the worst customer service I have experienced. They gave the delivery drivers the wrong couch which me and the movers realized after it was unwrapped, which then the couch had to be removed and I personally still had to pay $80. The delivery drivers also explained that the correct couch would likely not fit given the height of my ceiling and to discuss this with surplus in store. In store surplus took no responsibility for delivering the wrong couch and insisted that they would not reimburse me the $80 despite me literally pay them that money to bring the WRONG couch into my house and then out of my house. I then explained that I could need a new couch and asked for something similar to what I had ordered, which they said sorry they didn’t have anything similar without even looking and could have given any less of a care in the world. I spent about 3 hours out of my day trying to work around their mess up with absolutely no compensation and I am now out $80.Thanks so much

Oshawa location has very poor customer service, no sense of talking with customers, they would do false/artificial lighting on rugs and walls which would look different in colour and when you get delivery it's different means they fabricate and don't do ethical business practices.Not at all a customer friendly store to deal with.#Surplus needs to go in deficit

This thing happened 2021.. Bought a sofa from them.. after few months it starts to rip.. so called them bcz it's under the warranty. They gave a customer service number and customer service never pick up the phone. Then send we send message to their helpdesk few times still no reply. finally got in touch with their area manager, he said he will send someone to fixed it, which never happened.. then area manager said he is leaving from the job so their is nothing he can do.. never ever buy anything from Surplus Furniture...

I received excellent service from both Victoria and Anthony. They were both very kind, patient, friendly also very knowledgeable about the couch we purchased. I recommend this place 100%. Keep up the great work Victoria and Anthony! We love our couch!

Worst place to get anything from I got one of there most expensive couches the delivery drives put it in my apartment put it together broke it an the store dont want to right this wrong an fix the coach at there cost there trying to charge me for the wrong they did don't recommend anyone to go here worst costumer care ever

The service was impeccable. Both Megan and Carlos were super attentive and patience throughout our shopping experience. Took my mom to get a mattress and frame and ended up buy a whole lot more because the prices were that reasonable. The products available were a good range of selections too. We kept changing our minds with the color and make and they were not showing the slightest bit of annoyance. Felt very taken care of as a customer leaving the place super happy. Carlos even went out of his way to load my car with the smaller items that I walked with.I will highly recommend people to give this place a shot instead of going to a ridiculously priced known place.

Had a wonderful experience, Megan and Roberta answered any and all questions I had. They helped make this process of find the perfect couch for my space less stressful and enjoyable!

I hope there is a zero point to choose from!!! Your company does not deserve a one" in this review. I hope Google can include "zero" here. I spent over $2000 to buy the furniture from your Oshawa store and I have to say it was the worst decision I have ever taken in my life. What a waste of money. The furniture is the worst I have ever bought and it started falling apart after a month of purchasing it. The store manager's response to my complaint is rather appalling...he advised me to continue waiting for the manufacturer to get back them or he would provide me with manufacturer's contact details for follow up with. What a shame!!! Is this the way to resolve issue on behalf of your customers??? I will suggest to anyone to choose another vendor when considering buying your furniture."

Great experience Roberta took her time and made sure I was satisfied with my selection very knowledgeable and Carlos was amazing back up made sure what I needed was in stock and the entire experience was great I will be back for sure and will tell all my co workers and Renovations clients about this place.Thanks guys!!
