I’ve been training with the head coach (Mandeep) of this gym for the past couple of years and am really enjoying my experience with him. Mandeep really encouraged my lifting journey, from having never touched a barbell to holding provincial record and competing in powerlifting nationals in a couple of weeks. I would definitely encourage anyone who is interested in strength and condition to try out this gym!

Awesome experience with the gym. The trainers Michael and Jacob are awesome. The classes are small so you get lots of personal attention from the trainers. Love the atmosphere of the place. I've never done weight lifting before, but everyone from the owner to the trainer to the other clients are all chill and very welcoming. They even have national athletes train there but everyone is super chill and friendly.

I started weightlifting in high school, but for many years after graduating, it was a challenge getting back into it. Commercial gyms tended to intimidate me because I didn't know anyone and without the structure I came to rely on in my classes, I felt very lost. Things changed when a friend introduced me to UBC! Carl, the coaches, and the other patrons are all very supportive & friendly and have become people I look forward to seeing whenever I'm in for a class. The coaches look out for you - not only for the exercises in the workout of the day, but also with providing guidance on what exercises may hep to alleviate any pains or soreness you're feeling. I am super glad I took the chance to try out the trial class recommended to me; now I get to be a part of this awesome community! :)

United Barbell Club is an incredibly supportive and positive community for anyone seeking to improve in the gym, whether you are a complete beginner or elite athlete.I've had many coaches while participating in a variety of sports such as figure skating and gymnastics. With that said, I can confidently say that the head coach at United, Mandeep, is the best coach I've ever had. In the six years I have worked with him, he brought me from an absolute beginner to attending the World Championships. If you're interested in improving strength and conditioning or weightlifting at any level, check out United Barbell Club!

Some background info: I've been training in general and sport-specific strength and conditioning since 2012. Recreational participation in sports such as, basketball, volleyball, and football.I started attending United Barbell Club's fundamentals of weightlifting class 1x/week in January 2022. I've had 0 prior experience with olympic lifting and essentially went in blind. Coach Dan has been very supportive in teaching and refining the fundamental movement patterns involved with cleans, jerks, and snatches. For a complete newbie, I felt very comfortable working with Coach Dan and valued the just-right challenge" aspect of his programming. The small class sizes create a welcoming environment which has helped encourage me to continue to push beyond my comfort zone and push past my insecurities with trying out a new class. All in all

Very knowledgeable coaches who have passion for not only strength & conditioning but also teaching & helping students with their personal goals. You get to meet a very tight knit group of coaches and students who are always there to support you. Beginner friendly, but offers intermediate to advance classes as well!

Did some beginner classes over the summer while back home and was amazed at the expertise and facility. The staff to member ratio ensures a great deal of individual attention and the variety of equipment available allows lifters of all levels to participate.Noticed significant improvements to form after only a few sessions and would highly recommend for anyone, whether it's a beginner trying it out for the first time or someone like myself who's been gaming for a long time needing a few tips. Awesome all around!

Carl has put together an amazing team of passionate and talented coaches.Furthermore, each coach has their specialties where you can gain tons of insights for depending on what your athletic goals are.You also sometimes train alongside a national level competitive weight lifting team. Seeing their strength inspires you to do better.I would recommend UBC without hesitation if you’re looking for a no ego group of people that focuses on the foundations that truly makes you strong.
