Food is good and portions were large. Breakfast was excellent. Really good raisin bread. I've had better pannenkoek elsewhere. Overall I was satisfied. Place is clean. Decor is a little dated, however, it had some cool Dutch memorabilia. We went there about an hour after open and were asked to sit at a smaller table as we were two and we obliged. The hostess said it would get very busy but that never happened during the time we were there. Other couples that came after us either ignored the advisement or were not advised at all.

Cute hole in the wall establishment that has been around for many years. The food was large in portion but lacking flavour overall, although the coffee was good.4 stars because of the service, charm and visible history inside (photos around the wall, memorabilia, decor etc).

I love how unique the interior is with lots of pictures and decorations. It's very cozy however you'll most likely be lining up as it's insanely busy.Of course I had to try to Pannekoek. Tasted great with the Stroup (syrup). Lots of toppings to choose from. Not sure if the baked apple slices were supposed to be dry tasting but I wasn't a fan.If you don't want to wait make sure to reserve. The service is amazing however.

Been coming here for years. Friendly staff, delicious food. Many choices on the menu. I like how they have half sizes .

Ratings Scale 0 - 10Variety: 9Service or Product: 8Customer Service: 7Environment: 8Cleaning: 8Cost: 7Quaint little place for a nice breakfast. The menu is quite large so most people should be able to find something. There are a variety of omelettes, Dutch pancakes (which are basically like crepes but a little bit thicker maybe?), Eggs benedict, French toast and more. We tried the seafood pancake and omelettes, both of which were quite good. I like that the quantity is pretty filling as well, although the seafood pancake could use a little bit more seafood. Also tried the hot chocolate which was okay, I think the milk they used was low fat so it's really thin which I do not like. Hot chocolate should be thick and creamy. But still overall a pretty decent experience. Might try the French toast next time.

The hearty brunch that checked all the boxes. Decor is dated but homey, the food and service is the real spot light. Their menu has an abundance of choices and their friendly staff gave great recommendations. Food was amazing and generous proportions.

Came for the first time today with friends that come regularly who highly recommended - for some reason food was not as in previous visits and the eggs were not what was ordered-fried soft not medium basted, hashbrowns inedible-cold, dry and overdone, toast burnt. Our server was massively apologetic and kind to try salvaging the meal which was very much appreciated. I’ll try it again based on the fact that my friends said it was unusually bad. Drip coffee was strong, a plus. I don’t get the pancake bites as a concept but maybe that’s me, I’d rather just a Dutch crepe!

Whenever I wanted hearty breakfast, this is the first place I would think of. Being on Cambie for over 45 years, you knew they had something good to offer. The decor was interesting when I first stepped in, very vintage dutch/european vibe, with lots of pictures of families and friends who have dined here. The menu offering was plenty, a bit too much in my opinion, takes me a while to choose which one to get. The food...ah...it was fulfilling! Big portion, just the right amount of saltiness and sweetness, hash browns were not overly oily, a bit on the chewy side if you like those texture (im a fan), raisins bread was my favourite. It was a cold day that day, and luckly the warmth and welcoming vibe inside really warmed us up.Recommend, they do the basics" right."
