I had an appointment with Kiley! She did a fantastic job! She managed to lighten my hair perfectly and gave me a cut that I love! She was able to keep the length and help my hair feel more healthy then ever. Thank you

Firstly, I’d like to point out my poor experience here was from three years ago at this point. At that time, I was freshly 18 years old and an extreme people pleaser who had a hard time with boundaries.Three years ago, I decided I wanted to do a minor change to my hair. My mother had really liked the previous owner of the Rock salon so she recommended here. I was told I was booked in with Shay. I was excited because I had a bunch of reference photos of what I wanted. I wanted a “Skunk Stripe” (white line of hair on the front of my head)Upon arrival at my appointment, I was told I was switched to Marie. I didn’t protest, but as soon as I sat in her chair I felt concern. I showed her the photos of what I wanted, and she criticized the hair style. She said it would “age me” and make me look old. She also said it would damage my hair, and probably wouldn’t suit my face. I felt completely deflated. I texted my boyfriend and told him I made a huge mistake. Marie tried to convince me to get a balayage, which I did not want. I protested, three times, but as a naive 18 year old I agreed to let her do it. After all, she was the professional and I didn’t want to look “old”.At this point in my life it didn’t occur to me that I could just get up out of the chair and walk away. I felt embarrassed and I just let her do what she wanted. I tried hard to like the style. I was kind to the stylist and chatted her up to try make myself feel better about losing my agency and feeling insecure. Part way through the treatment she told me she had no bookings. I realized then that she had pressured me to do the balayage because it was much more expensive, and time consuming that what I had originally wanted.I felt humiliated again, and stupid. At the end of this, Marie took me to the makeup booth near the windows and took photos of my hair. She asked me if I wanted a complimentary bit of extra makeup; I said okay. After she put on some lipstick and a dusting of eyeshadow, she told me “now I can take pictures of your face”. This absolutely crushed my self esteem. I have never felt uglier than when I came to this salon.At the end, I paid $370+ for the balayage I didn’t want. The receptionist asked how it was and I said “it’s good” and I left. I walked across the street to the cafe and went home. When I got home I sobbed my eyes out. I wanted to shave my head, scream, yell. I felt bullied, picked on, and judged. I was pressured into an almost 400 dollar style because Marie wanted money; she didn’t care about the agency of her client.I realize I should have been more upfront with what I wanted. After it was done, my mom was mortified at what happened. I told her leave it be, I was humiliated; I never wanted to step foot there again. She said she would call for me and find out what happened because it wasn’t right. She called Shay.Shay relayed Marie had taken me to the studio section of the salon, the opposite side of the window and “overheard” me saying how much I “loved” the hair style. I never stepped foot in that area. After this point my mother got angry, and Shay made a disparaging comment about how I should be calling myself as I was 18.As I’ve grown, I realize how disgusting the treatment here was. I deserved to be listened to and not torn down. I deserved a stylist interested in my needs, not destroying my confidence in the pursuit of funds. As an insecure 18 year old, I didn’t need to be bullied and lied about. I’m saying this now so that hopefully any young women who find themselves in my position find the strength in themselves to walk away, or simply not choose this salon.I was fortunately able to get my hair fixed at Ragged Edge. The owner dyed damaged hair back and did the skunk stripe. It cost $167.To the owner; I’m not interested in verbally sparring with you. Immaturity shines through in conversations and I am not entertaining that. I hope your attitude changes and you protect your clients.

Lidia was amazing! Coming into the salon with dark warm brown hair and golden hilites, I wanted to transition from colouring my grey regrowth every 5 weeks to letting my natural grey hair come in. My goal is to not have to colour my hair anymore and she achieved this with one visit! I’m now a sexy salt and pepper lady! Looks so natural and I won’t have to come in every 5 week to get the grey covered because it just blends my natural grey. I look like a natural salt and pepper now. I can just let it grow and embrace my silver fox look! 10/10 and this comes from myself, whom was a stylist for 12 years! I couldn’t have had it turn out any better! Highly recommend and also this was my first time seeing Lidia! She knows what she is doing in colouring and cutting! Excellent!

10/10 experience. I was gifted the Rock spa package for a birthday present from my partner and let me tell you, it was the best 6 hrs of my life. The staff were extremely professional and amazing at what they do. The body exfoliation was probably my favorite part. Its been 3 days and my skin is still SO soft. Highly recommend this salon for any hair or spa needs.

I had Kiley as my stylist and she was just amazing. I wasn't sure what I wanted and she really listened and picked the perfect colour for me. I would recommend both Kiley and the Rock if you are looking for a new salon. it was a very relaxing experience!

Had a great appointment for foils with Kiley! She really payed attention to every detail and is the first stylist to style my hair and I didn't need to fix it when I got home hahahaha Thats a win!

I gifted my gf a spa day from here. She said that every aspect of it was beyond excellent. Purchasing the gift package was quick and easy, and the staff were all very kind and helpful. I definitely recommend this place, and I'll definitely buy from them again.

I love this place. I only go about once a year because my services wind up being very expensive but I view it as a treat. I have been seeing Tyra for my hair and she is wonderful. She knows my hair, she knows my colours, she is outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable. I’m greeted warmly when I arrive, someone brings me a beverage, they offer a complimentary hand massage while you’re under the dryer and I’ve always found the ambiance very relaxing which is exactly what you want from a place like this. They’ve also got a few free parking stalls for customers out back.

I went in to see Kiley and she did an AMAZING job!! I just told her I wanted my hair lighter and I let her pick the color, it turned out SOO beautiful!! She clearly has an eye for color and did an amazing job!!
