I wholly recommend Duncan, Daniel and the team at Pendulum of Mayfair to anyone wanting world-class repair or maintenance performed on their antique clock! I bought a superb 1780 Bristol long-case clock Phillip Lloyd from my Company, after the site closed last year. It needed much TLC and, having nipped into Pendulum last year while on a business trip to London, knew that these were the people I wanted to restore the clock to its original glory.In short, what the team have achived is nothing short of miraculous - and I do not say that lightly. One thing I was nervous of was the stunning mahogany case coming back 'refinished', with patina and character gone forever. In contrast, Pendulum managed to restore the depth, colour and lustre of the finish without sacrificing any of the antiquity. The case itself needed several repairs to broken parts, loose feet, a couple of splits... if you did not know the faults they had been there, you could now not find them. The movement is fully restored, all the gorgeous Lloyd additions (second hand, moon phase, High Water at Bristol) work perfectly.Finally, the customer service was second to none, expert and personal.In short, do not hesitate to trust your clock to Pendulum - you will not be disappointed.Dr Paul J Matts

Went to this shop while shopping in central London, was amazed by their beautiful stock of lovely antique clocks. I purchased a lovely carriage clock for my wife as a surprise gift. I own a very old Barwise grandfather clock that has been in my family from it's making in Cockermouth. In my search for additional information I sent an email from California and Daniel Clements responded in very short time. After sending him a series of clock photos be provided me with the clockmakers history, suggestion as to restoration and interesting facts about the dial face. I contacted this family firm Pendulum when I was trying to locate a Grandfather clock as a present for my wife.Throughout all of the exchange of emails and my visit to the shop in Mayfair ,I received excellentadvice and very clear explanations about the various options .I eventually chose a London clock from about1785 and Daniel delivered and installed it at our house on the agreed date .My wife absolutely loves this clock ,as do I - it is really beautiful and we feel like it has been in our house for years rather than a couple of weeks .I was very lucky to have come across this top quality company .It is rare these days to experience such excellent and friendly cooperation - highly recommended .Alan Ross

I came across Pendulum by chance when visiting London soon after I purchased a bracket clock at auction in Exeter. There is nothing off putting or intimidating about the very warm welcome one receives on entering their shop in Mayfair. Daniel and his family could not have been kinder or more considerate. They have since completely transformed a rather scruffy and unreliable long case clock of mine and the bracket clock will find its way to their workshop in Chesire very soon.
