I had spinal disk fusion surgery in 2015. The surgery did help to stabilize my spine but didn't do much for my pinched nerves that causes me daily, excruciating pain. I tried many types and strengths of various medications but none helped to alleviate my pain and suffering and the side effects were making my overall health condition worse. I applied for Canada Pension Plan - Disability in 2016 and was approved. CPP considers me disabled.I was under a huge amount of pressure due to my poor prognosis and lack of medications that helped me as well as the reluctance of my insurance company to respond to my doctor's recommendations. I want to say a big thank you to my lawyer Mr. Martin Willemse, who I was fortunate enough to have been referred to!! I would also like to thank the rest of the staff that helped work on my case! I have had some medical issues for a few years now and had quite a few barriers along the way which were preventing my recovery. I was feeling like I couldn't fight anymore, that I was never going to recover and I was ready to just give up. When I explained my situation to Martin I didn't believe that he or his firm could do anything to help me. He informed me of what my rights were and and anything pertinent to my case.
