West Kelowna Urgent and Primary Care Centre

Brought my 14 month old in because she was very sick, had a bad cough, wasn’t eating much, etc. they told me she was fine it was just a cold but it wasn’t. She had fluid in her ear & chest, they even checked those & missed it.

As positive an experience as I had last time is as negative experience I had this time. I came in with a growing skin condition that is making it hard to sleep. I was told by the check-in nurse behind the doors to see my family doctor. I said the doctor works when I work. The reply was because I have had it a while, I need to see my family doctor. I said that means taking time off of work and not getting paid. The reply was Well

I'm not going into detail regarding the reason for my visit but it fell short of my expectations. There was no doctor working at the time which kind of defeats the entire purpose of having such a service, doesn't it? Not to minimize what they do by any stretch, but a nurse practitioner is not a doctor. It took the results of a blood test 5 days later followed by a visit to the KGH ED for the underlying condition to actually be identified. Next time we'll probably just go straight the ED if there's the slightest chance it could be something serious and save this place for only the most basic of issues.

I took my 97 year old Mom in last week as she no longer has a Doctor and needed to be checked over for edema in both legs! I could not have been more impressed with the kind and professional support we received during the two hours we were there. Everyone from the male receptionist to the intake RN Social Worker Delightful lady Doctor etc., could not have been more supportive! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Dealing with older patients in such a lovely way could not have been more appreciated at this very stressful time in my life - Thank you Linda and Jean

All though the nurses and doctors were nice I had went in to get my iud removed because it’s giving me some discomfort and she basically flat out refused and said “I don’t think you realize how good iuds really are” and when I explained to her I would rather stay on the pill like I was doing before hand she said “I know to many women who have gotten pregnant when forgetting to take a pill” so after a 2 and a half hour wait and major discomfort I was told “go home and come back In a few days if it’s really bugging you” I do not recommend this place just go to the hospital.

They treated my son whome was having difficulties breathing. The Dr was quick to diagnose that he was having a severe asthma attack. She kept him in a private room and monitored him for 2 hours while treating his attack. The was very thorough and knowledgeable on his urgent treatment. She provided the puffers and meds necessary to treat him on the spot. I felt she was very professional and on the ball as a dr in that situation should be! I have no complaints.

The only reason I'm even giving one star is because the rest of the staff were really nice, accommodating and pleasant... unfortunately it's not the rest of the staff that can help you. Tonight I took my husband to urgent care because his family doctor went out of town without notice and he needed his prescriptions refilled and a refill of his pain medication because he has recently had surgery on a broken foot. He broke 7 bones and shattered 2 joints. It was serious and he is still in pain because he still has his pins in. We waited 4.5 hours to be let in last minute. The doctor came in and was IMMEDIATELY hostile. He did NOT introduce himself or give his name. He did not care of anything we had to say at all. He interrupted almost everything we had to say. Ignored many things because he didn't care to respond. He REFUSED to give my husband pain medication because he had his hips replaced and only took tylenol". This man clearly does not understand people or the field he is in. No two people are the same

Horrible experience and im never coming here again! I went in with a blocked ear at 6:30pm tonight and dealt with 2 impatient and rude nurses. The nurse that came in to flush my ear was acting like she didn't want to be there or I was wasting her time and lacked compassion. She also told me the procedure wouldn't be painful when it was extremely painful, to the point where I couldn't even finish and left with my ear even more backed up and in pain. Both of them should pick a different career because helping people is clearly not the path for them!!

Waited for 2 hours on FridayJust for a quick doctor to glance and say it’s allergies.Cmon due a better job

All the staff were very pleasant and considerate. Happy to give assurance to elders and young alike. Much appreciated and thanks to you all.
