I joined Speakeasy soon after moving to Canada from Australia. Since joining this group I have made new friends and improved my ability to present to a group. I look forward to meeting you on a Wednesday at 6:30pm. Sam

Very friendly and welcoming club. Speakeasy, in my opinion, is a casual and fun approach to Toastmasters with lots of laughter, while getting speakers, new and experienced, comfortable in front of an audience.

I joined the club for just over a year. It surprises me how much I benefit and grow from it.I was so shy and had hard time to speak up or to be assertive. At first, I was nervous to join every meeting. The only task I gave myself was to show up. But I got tremendous support from the other members. Surprisingly, 6 months after, I felt more confident in expressing myself. If you are intimidated by public speaking or attending the meeting, you are not alone. It took me one year to finally get the courage to walk into the door. It was not that bad at all. You may choose not to speak if you are not ready. But believe me, joining the club was the greatest decision I've made in that year.
