Portage And Main Boilers

Installed a Portage and Main BL 28-40 boiler in 2014 after 1 year burning propane on a new build 1800Sq. Ft. home + basement. We heat our basement slab, forced air, domestic hot water, and most recently 3 stalled garage. We fill our 500 gallon propane tank once every 2 years and our house is 74 degrees and garage is 70 during the cold season. My parents were so impressed they purchased a Portage and Main for their log home and barn in 2015. Nothing better than seeing icicles hanging off the burning Portage and Main boiler, when other boiler brand owners talk about the melted ground around their boiler when it is in use.

So I purchased a BL 34-44 in March of 2016 and it is a fantastic product. I live in northern Minnesota and the coldest this boiler has had to work in was -48 F. I heat everything with it so house is 30x50 shop is 40x60 and the hot water for the house. I have kept up with the basic maintenance and cleaning and have not had any major issue with this unit. Well made product I highly recommend.

I purchased a portage and main system in 2021 and had it installed that fall. I can honestly say that I would never go to a different heating system.Besides getting or cutting the wood, there is some physical labour involved in retrieving any wood. But this system will save you hundreds of dollars over the long run.I love plugging the burner up with the large chunks of wood, whether it is a 10 inch diameter log or a quarter of a massive stump. I do that twice a day. My heat setting is on low for the burner so if I needed to heat a garage or shop I know it would keep up.If you are looking for anymore details on how great this system is, just ask!!

I purchased a EGR250 boiler 6 years ago from Portage andMain and couldn't be happier! I owned 2 other coventional outside boilers and was not happy with their efficiency. The EGR250 burns 1/2 the wood, the burn lasts longer, and there is very little waste in the form of ashes! I used to burn 20 full cords of wood and now burn 10! The stove is very well built, looks great in your yard, and is very dependable. The best part of this stove is the customer service .! IIf you need advice, parts whatever they go above and beyond . I feel like a friend and have never really needed parts but advice a couple times and everyone is great. I strongly recommend.

This is my third season heating our home, garage, and DHW with a Portage and Main BL 2840 and it has been a great experience. Their customer support is awesome as well with clear instruction and excellent follow up when I reached out with some maintenance questions. I highly recommend!

The Portage and Main Ultimizer has cut wood consumption down over my Heatmaster over 20% very happy with my purchase wish I knew about them sooner.

My Husband searched endlessly at several different outdoor furnaces and when he went to look at the Portage and Main one he was more than satisfied. The manufacturing and quality is top notch. We have been using it for this will be the 5th winter and every year we warm all winter long and the wood seems to burn hot for long periods of time. Only needs firing up a couple of time throughout the day. And the service from the company itself is top notch. We are always pleased with quality of service that we receive from them. If they don’t answer right away they always get back to you in a reasonable amount of time.

Just up graded my stove 10/28 2021 from a ml30 to a 2840… stove wooow what a difference it was easy to hook up can’t believe the difference in stoves .. burns cleaner and hotter… absolutely no build up in baffel area of creosol .if anybody is looking for a stove the2840 is it … I heat my house and garage plus my hot water …in all it’s almost 4000 square ft .

This was the best experience we've had with anyone! Rein was very knowledgable about our system. He offered some great suggestions on how we could improve what we had, and he found solutions to fix things that were done incorrectly by previous owners or workmen. Great stove!I purchased this stove 17 years ago and used it right up till last year.It started to leak a bit in the corners where the ash was hard to get and but for 17 years of use can be expected for how old it was, considering the first stove I bought was a wood doctor, and only lasted four yearsWould’ve purchased another one, but was late in the year and couldn’t wait the two week delivery time to get it to me, needed a stove right away.So jumped in my truck and went to Quebec to buy a different brand.One would think 17 years later with newer technology, the one I purchased would be, as or if not better than my old Portage and Main but you couldn’t compare.I heat multiple buildings and with the Portage stove I burned 30 to 35 cord per year. The new one I purchased,…. 60!!Double! I couldn’t believe it.That new stove was no where near efficient as the portage and main.With my old stove late fall could fill it and get at least 3 days of burn from it and the new one the next morning it was empty!Needless to say the new stove I bought is gone.If you’re in the market for an outdoor wood boiler with my experience in using a few different brands, the Portage and Main is the stove to purchase
