Ok.. for a “public house” they close at “5 pm” yet we went there at 4 for a drink and the doors were closed. No sign nothing on the door. Also.. two employees sat there and watched us trying to open the door. Really? Are you that amazing you close early (no sign) and can sit there and not even acknowledge customers?

We enjoyed our visit to Courtenay and finished the day with a meal at High Tide. We sat outside on the patio where the table was a bit tippy. Nice view of the street traffic. I had a delicious blackberry margarita and veggie burger. The food was very good, portions generous. Our server was not particularly friendly. We had a great time however, visiting with two other customers at a nearby table. Prices were reasonable.

Nice pub style restaurant in downtown Courtney. Has a happy hour and plenty of TVs for watching sports etc. Worth a try if your in the area.

While visiting Courtney, we stopped here for a drink and decided to have a starter to go with our drink. I ordered the Calamari to share and they were excellent! I love calamari and have sampled it from all over the world. This calamari was one of the best I have ever had. The peppers and tomato were perfect with them and when I asked for a different dipping sauce since I cannot have Yogurt, the cook suggested a spicy aioli which worked perfectly!

First time trying this restaurant since I just moved here and am so impressed! The lemon Greek riblets were to die for and same with the Korean bbq cauliflower. Will definitely be going back!
