One of the best authentic Japanese Restaurants in Vancouver. This small restaurant can get quite busy as soon as it’s doors open. They don’t take reservations, it’s only first come first serve. A lineup quickly forms during the first couple hours of opening outside the restaurant, that’s how you know this place is the spot. I recommend coming a few minutes early before they open to reserve a spot and to avoid waiting.I’ve been coming to Toshi for years now, and it never disappoints. The fish is always fresh, and I love that have daily specials that change every now and then. The staff/servers are always friendly and attentive. Definitely do check this restaurant out if you appreciate delicious sushi, and authentic japanese dishes.

Officially my favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver. The quality of the sushi here is amazing and the price is very reasonable. Their miso glazed white fish is to die for and they sometimes have specific ingredients straight from Japan. The ratio of rice and fish for the sushi is also perfect. I was highly impressed by the food here. The service is really good, although the restaurant itself is pretty small. They do not recommend group sizes larger than 4 people and it may be an extra long wait, I would advice to call ahead if you are visiting in a large group. Be warned that it is first come first serve and they do not take reservations. There is typically a wait to go in regardless of which evening you visit and I have had to wait an hour to get in. Probably one of the only restaurants where I’m willing to wait an hour to eat at. Last call is at 8:30pm and if there is a line ahead of you, they might not let you sign up at that time.

Finally got the chance to come visit on Valentine’s Day. The restaurant is on my list for a while.Overall, it’s a decent sushi place that you can trust.Tried California roll and spicy bbq salmon roll. Both are above average. The salmon and tuna don is pretty fresh and tasty! The only thing is that rice is way too much compared to the sashimi portion.I also get half order of hamachi, which is very fresh and with good umamiThe gindara is my favourite! So tasty, favourable and juicy. It’s the best one I’ve ever had in VancouverYakitori is good but a bit too saucy for meTherefore, I’ll definitely recommend this place. Their sushi are all in a very good quality!

A small restaurant with quick turnover offering simple and fresh sushi with daily specials. This is a neighbourhood gem and satisfying to dine at. Always a lineup during their short service time and no reservations so be prepared for a little wait. I would say my favourite karaage in town.

Amazingly priced sushi and sashimi. The fish is very fresh and delicious. They also have house made ice cream and I personally loved their white chocolate and strawberry flavor. Very limited seating so get there at opening if you want to limit your wait time (I got there within the first half hour of opening and did not wait longer than a few minutes). If you are here for the first time, I recommend trying out their sashimi and specials they may have. I had their negihama roll and it was amazing!

Three of us went on a week day and we got lucky to get a table in 10 mins. They started lining up afterwards. My friend said there is always a line up. The fish was fresh, service was good, n prices were still decent. It was a very good value for what we ate. When you walk in they point out the specials on the wall. I ordered the Sayori Sashimi 4 pieces for $23 phfft i wont do that again. So tiny the pieces so not worth it. If we didnt order this plus another $12 sake n $5 beer that we didnt need (alcoholic peep just orders up n tries to make you drink because he is an alcohol pusher) so take $40 off the bill it would have been $160 for 3 people. All 3 of us thought it was overall a very good quality sushi restaurant. No frills, no over the top take a picture presentation, just basic fresh sushi. The 15 piece assorted sashimi plate was only $33 a bargain! Ours came w butter fish. So good. Also they serve a califonia roll w real crab for 10 bucks. We tried the pineapple n passion fruit ice cream. It was very yummy! The pudding was meh dont bother. We would come here on a regular basis if there was no line up lol. This place is very small with limited seating.

Classic Main Street sushi spot. Good sized menu, with standouts like the Miso Black Cod and Grilled Eggplant. Very affordable, their prices have not (yet) caught up with inflation. Tiny spot, and by 6 the wait times are up to an hour - no reservations, so come early!

Very high quality authentic sushi place run by Japanese. I find their prices to be more competitive relative some other authentic Japanese run sushi places, which are pushing $5 per Toro nigiri (I use Toro because come on, who doesn't like it?). As of this date, Toshi's Toro nigiri is $3.50 per piece. They also offer some other unique fish such as Kanpachi, Sawara, among others. The rice is top notch and fish is very high quality. Service is very good as you would expect from any Japanese run places (they only hire Japanese waitresses). Be prepared to wait though, as it is a popular place (for good reasons!).

Great nigiri with fresh cuts. I loved the saba and the toro. The grilled miso eggplant was a highlight, delicious and fluffy. Service is friendly and quick, though it can get busy. If you don't want to spend time queuing, go early.
