Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Ottawa - Carling

Very organized/clean Kumon centre with knowledgeable staff. I would recommend this centre to anyone in the area.

My kids have been involved in the kumon program on Carling Ave. for 3 years. This is a great program for parents who take kids' education seriously but don't have time to teach kids extra stuff themselves. At kumon Carling center, my kids have developed good learning habit of doing kumon homework everyday and both of them are now in gifted program.l like the program because of 2 reasons:1) Kumon makes my kids study everyday and good learning habit has been developed easily. I used to teach my kids myself but only 3 to 4 times a week. It was time consuming, stressful and I often feel tired. Now after work, I don't need to think about what and how to teach them and i get to spend much more time on managing healthy meals and organizing family activities.2) The head instructor Mandy and many of other instructors such as Rim in my Kumon Center are very experienced, professional, and caring. My kids like them a lot and told me that they explain concepts much clearer and with a lot of patience in comparison to me. Mandy is so warm, kind, and also a good listener. She pays attention to kids' stress level. She often adjusts the amount of pages my kids have to complete daily according to my kids' educational needs and stress level which is very important for my kids to keep their interests in learning. Personally, I find my kids especially my youngest one become unhappy or even frustrated if they study too long (e.g., over 40 to 45 minutes), it is important for parents and kumon instructors to work together to manage kids' stress levels according to individual circumstances and don't drive kids crazy. I often only register them for one subject (English or Math only) and switch to the other subject after 1 year or so so that they could enjoy the daily homework without stress.

Mandy has to stop children class coz they are sick. When I told her are u gonna back up thd class she said no . I said I pay for it she said I can terminate their class. I don't like her answers at all she took the money she isn't co operate. She being very tough. I hope she can read this message. We work hard and drive to her location even backup doesn't give but she wants money. Zero star

Both of my children have been doing the Kumon program for writing for the last 6 months through the Carling Kumon site. Mandy, the lead staff, is so organized and a great communicator. The program was smooth and without interruption even through the pandemic, as we seamlessly moved to online tutoring and she had all their materials ready for us. We have see our children make leaps forward with working independently and general work ethic. We have also have seen improvements in their reports cards. This program is helping my children with their writing, but we are seeing it's positive impact across all the academic areas. Highly recommend!

Our kids have gotten a lot out of being a part of the Kumon program! This Carling location, run by Mandy and her team, is a very warm and well-run organization. We love knowing that our kids are building such strong foundational skills in reading and math. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Kumon for traditional mathematics instruction and English reading comprehension. My kids were at a French school but were able to keep up at a similar level in English thanks to Kumon. In mathematics, they are now learning material 3-4 grades above their current one.

My children have been going to Kumon on Carling for a few years now. We are pleased with their learning structure as it gives my kids a solid platform to help them with school learning and builds up their confidence.  Mandy and Jimmy are great with the kids and their service goes over and beyond to make sure our kids get their homework and complete them properly.  Importantly, they are honest with their opinions and feedbacks so both parents and children can keep track of their workload and accomplishments together at home.  Thank you Mandy and her team for your great help!
