I needed to have sushi in Vancouver before heading back to Calgary and our original spot was closed so we came here.Really solid food, service was decent. Our waitress was very pleasant but not stand out. I had to be very spatially aware as the space is very narrow between tables and even between the counter and tables.Ordered the Crazy Girl roll, BC roll, salmon poke bowl, mango salmon salad, chicken don bowl, one roll I can't remember the name of, and a strawberry driver.

I've been here twice for food, the first time was with my boyfriend, I got the veggie sushi from the lunch menu and I ordered the same for dinner the second time. My boyfriend ordered the chicken teriyaki box from the lunchtime menu. Great service and a lovely atmosphere.

Unbeatable value for their lunch combo. Food is always fresh and made to order and service has always been good. Try out their limited anniversary special now, $20 for variety of small dishes from land to sea.

A small Japanese spot on Commercial drive that can meet a wide array of Japanese food cravings. The dishes we had ranged from noodle soups, sushi rolls, aburi platter, chicken curry. We were all satisfied with both taste and portion size and was surprised that the prices were still reasonable. Highly recommend making reservation or take out.

Edit:Came back for a second time.. it wasn't that busy when we were seated (only 3 or 4 tables)..We had the nachos and the Loku aburi set again... And a Bento...We waited an hour for the aburi set to come..(while we see bentos being served one after another)...by that time we were ready to leave.It was unfortunate....won't be back again

I don't give very many 5 stars out. This will be my third. At first I was even just going to give 4 stars but I couldn't think of any reason to not give it 5. We are vegan so it's a review based around those dishes. This was easily one of the best, if not the best sushi I have ever had. The special rolls are usually not worth the extra money at most places, but let me asure you this isn't most places. In fact I'd mainly recommend those and it's not because their standard rolls aren't incredible, rather these special rolls were just worth the extra. The strawberry Ade was fantastic. The gomae was good but very different, same with the agadashi tofu. In fact I wouldn't get those but only because I would rather order another amazing roll. If you haven't been here you need to go. Don't be in a rush though it's stupid busy, but once you eat there you will understand why.

If you like pressed sushi, this is the place to go! They have so many kinds of pressed seared sushi, it's amazing. I wish I took pics. I also highlyyyy recommend the soft shell crab in Japanese curry. Get a side of rice with it and it's so warm, crunchy and comforting. Delicious!
