Granville Island Hat Shop

My favourite store on Granville Island! This store not only has a huge array of quality head wear, but its staff is so helpful and so very sweet! All my visits to this store have been very positive. The staff allows you to try hats on, and there is never a pushy feeling, or a feeling of discomfort or stress. It's a very relaxed, friendly, stress free experience every time I go there. I can't stress enough on how helpful, personable, CLASSY, and friendly the staff is! The ladies working there are so accommodating and go above and beyond to make the customer happy and satisfied. You never have a feeling that they are after your money or that they are a business. Au contraire, you get the feeling that the store and the staff is really there for the passion of hats! I'm super happy with all my purchases made here, and my newly acquired 2 spitfire newsboy hats, and I'm looking forward to my many visits to come! Thank You Granville Island Hat Shop! <3

I can't imagine going anywhere else in greater Vancouver for a hat. This is THE place to buy hats.Excellent range and selection and a truly informed and expert staff.Not only can you buy your hat here but you they can also help you maintain and take care your purchases.Great selection of Canadian made hats as well as beautiful imported hats - if you want a nice beaver felt hat you've come to the right place.

Very cute spot! We came here during our visit to Vancouver and discovered this lovely gem in Grandview public market. The owner was so so lovely and nice! She helped me and my bf pick out our hats. We had such a fun time shopping here. Every time I wear my Kangol hat, I’ll think of great memories of Vancouver and my visit to this shop.

Service is good, selection seems limited. There was lots of assistance if you want it. They are willing to ship.

5 stars for the woman with long blonde hair I'm not sure if Deb(receipt mentions deb). She helped my sister with advice on how to wear certain hats. Showed some other options for hats and was overall such a pleasant and vibrant personality. She had mentioned we had beautiful hair I would just like to add here that she had long beautiful hair too and again a major positive to this store.The very bad experience was another woman who was greeting customers as they entered. She had a tattoo on her arm,was older looking, and had shorter hair. This person stared me and my sister's down like as if we were going to steal something. My youngest sister was holding on to hats that were going to be purchased and felt the intense stare of this woman and it made her completely uncomfortable to a point where she was asking if we were ready to leave. As we were that's when this lady comes up and asks if everything is good, my other sister who was making the purchase did respond by saying yes and just as she was going to take the hats herself to the counter, the lady takes them herself and places it on the counter herself. This felt in a way to prevent us from stealing in her delusional mind I suppose. Even when I was admiring a roaring 20s vintage hat I spotted this woman make an effort to see what I was doing. After my sister made the purchase, it was the conversation we all had right after and it made us all really upset but we all agreed on what was the saving grace in that store.The first woman was the reason those lovely hats were purchased because if she wasn't there to provide exceptional service, we would have left without buying anything.We would like to come back but being uncomfortable the first time was one and done deal.

I was in such a pickle to get a hat at the last minute for a photoshoot (long story, I’ll spare you) I called The Hat Shop in a panic and talked to Andrea, she helped me by emailing me pics of hats right away and then put them aside for me, as well as giving me detailed directions on how to get to the store (which was extremely helpful, as that area is quite confusing when trying to navigate in a rush). She saved me that day, and I am very grateful! Great and friendly customer service, and the hat was perfect to boot! Did not feel welcomed, I see there is a customer preference and priority..... Ladies are reluctant to assist and pushy but ended up buying as I had to fly out the same night.

Called just to ask questions as I am considering a new hat. They were very happy to give me time to answer questions and give great advice even though I was calling from Langley. I will definitely be visiting when I next go into town.

I used to work here when it was “Edie’s Hats”.They have a great selection of hats at Granville Island tourist prices. Knowledgeable staff for the most part who will help you find what you’re looking for or let you try on stuff to find your own style. Need to clean and steam your old felt fedora? Come in and they can help you.I came in today to get a tweed patch work golf cap but was disappointed to find out they had put them away until next summer, but was able to clean up my fedora and style it how I wanted.Always a great spot to stop in, the big comfy leather chair on the side is almost too comfortable and Almost hard to get out of, but gives you a spot to take a look at what they have selection wise until you’re ready to find your dream hat. Just be ready to spend some money.

The friendly owners and staff are incredibly knowledgeable about hats and headwear of all styles and will help you find the right hat for your face shape, style, and seasonal demands. Love it and can’t wait to go back.
