LA LA Bakeshop (Annex)

Là Lá is such a delightful spot! The staff are so very kind. Their baked treats never fail to make my day (I especially love the Garlic Cream Cheese Bun, Coconut Sticky Rice Mini Cake, and their coffees and teas are awesome). Ordering pickup is also very easy here. You can either go online or call the location (I’ve only called to order a cake and it went well). I also love that Là Lá supports the community, specifically, I have seen them sponsor University of Toronto Vietnamese Students’ Association events (thank you!). If you want something to cheer you up, Là Lá is a wonderful bakeshop to go to!

I finally found an Asian-inspired dessert place! I’ve always loved pork floss! So my always go-to for this Bakeshop the Salted Egg Roll Cake slice. Floss on the outside, soft cake in the middle and creamy in the inside.

I was recommended by a friend about this place and decided to give it a try. I ordered Salted egg castella cake through UberEat. I was a little worried when I saw a delivery man with a bag of my order hanging on the side of his bicycle but it was well packed, and cake wasn't ruined. As a salted egg lover, this is truly amazing. The texture of the cake was fluffy and moist with an abundant amount of salted eggs cream and crumble. Custard and pork floss enhanced the flavour of the cake. I can tell that this cake was made with love and care. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful cake.

Such a cute bakery with Vietnamese influence in their products. My visit was for the durian cake (I don’t personally like durian), but was told it was the best durian cake I’ve ordered.I ended up picking up some baked goods but because I ate some of it days later (and heated it up in the microwave), the savoury filling was quite heavy and overflowing. I might be enjoying it wrong (definitely won’t be waiting to enjoy it days later in the future) but at least La La Bakeshop will be my go-to for their durian cake for all occasions. Can’t wait to try other items!

We love their delicious cakes with the most innovative flavors. I liked their Banana Peanut Butter Mini Cake. it has delicious banana flavors similar to banana bread! There's lots of yummy creamy delicious banana inside! Their Avocado Mini Cake is soooo fragrant and creamy, similar to an avocado smoothie! I loved the texture, it was light and delicious. They always surprise me with their flavours, make sure to try them out as the Banana Peanut Butter Mini Cake is their current Fall seasonal special! The mini cakes are also quite filling and half a cake was the perfect amount for me.

Unintentionally found this place while walking along Bloor Street. A small hidden gem for Vietnamese desserts! My friend and I got the Taro Ube mini cake and Classic Flan Cake. I loved the Taro Ube Mini Cake with the layer of taro sticky rice at the bottom. Will be going back to try more! :)

Roll cake : Salty & savory Pork floss, sweet & runny custard, melt in your mouth roll cake. This harmony of all flavours & textures made me savour every single bite.Salted egg roll cake($6.25) slice vs. roasted seaweed roll cake($5.25). Other than different topping of salted egg in the sauce & crumber / roasted seaweed. They tasted like they had same roll cake & custard cream. I did not tasted strong salted egg flavour maybe it was already mixed with salty pork floss? Next time I will probably pay $1 less for roasted seaweed roll cake.Snack size Bahn Mi Croissant was spreaded with yummy patê, a good quality pork sausage & crunchy cucumber slice. Was not sure how they pickled cucumber so perfectly. Another sweet & savory treat! As advised, I heated up in my air fryer for a couple of minutes, had it slightly warm. It was perfect.Durian Mini Cake : also enjoyed real durian sauce with pandan cake, topped with butter custard. It had a good amount of durian flavour.La La celebrated their one year anniversary with 20% off promo & free tote bag and I happily enjoyed all the goodies I picked up from them. Sincerely friendly service was provided and loved yellow color decor of bakery. So cute!

Got a Vietnamese coffee tiramisu here but I eally regret not trying more stuff! Tiramisu was delicious though! Just thought it was a bit expensive for something not super special and unique even with the Viet coffee flavour.Edit: Visited again and got the durian cake, seaweed roll and salted egg yolk bun and I was blown away. The durian cake has really durian inside and every element from the soft spongy cake and the different layers of cream were so delicious. The cake still felt light though which is a bit dangerous cause I can definitely eat the whole thing on my own! The seaweed roll cake was just as delicious and the combination of flavours was so unique but worked amazing. Salted egg yolk bun was also really good. A bit heavy for my liking but still loved the Vietnamese flavours that have been incorporated! Definitely the prices. Quality and service is amazing and love supporting local Vietnamese businesses!!
